View Full Version : I need more power in 19t! very important!
Porksalot4L 11-03-2005, 08:48 AM Hey everyone i need some help. at my local track alot of us run 19t and its basicly a outlaw 19t class. theres only one rule and that is that the armiture has to have 19t turns. thats it. there isnt a timing rule or a can rule. theres not a rule against making the arm more lite. no rules against short stack which i dont even know what that means. so basicly i need help finding out information on how i can make the motors i have faster, and also i need help knowing who is the best compnay i can get either a fully assembled "outlaw 19t" and also who i can get just the armitures from.
so far im having absolutly no luck finding information from the guys i know so maybe people on here will be more informative! thanks in advance!

MikeNum8 11-03-2005, 09:06 AM I've found the best results with a Kisbey Cobalt 19 turn. with xxx silver brushes. Great power and last. No rebuild for a while. just my .02 cents
MIKE VALENTINE 11-03-2005, 09:24 AM Joe give Todd Putnum a call. 518-452-0422
dave w 1 11-03-2005, 09:32 AM We Already Did He S Out!
thats it im cutting him off no more 1700 s for him!
Kenwood 11-03-2005, 09:35 AM I doubt TODD will make what he is asking for anyway... Todd seems to have a little ore sense than that.. He is asking for OUTLAW motors..>>>IE Short stacked, LARGE wire>>>Milled ARM. = NOT LEGAL
erock1331 11-03-2005, 10:11 AM DC Motorsports makes an illegal 19T.
States on there site..
"KR Outlaw 19 Replacement Armature (Big Comm)
TIRED OF GETTING YOUR BUTT KICKED IN THE 19 TURN CLASS BECAUSE YOU LACK HORSE-POWER? NEVER AGIN!!!
If your local racetrack doesn't police their 19-turn class then this is the armature for you, GUARANTEED..... Our Outlaw 19 Big Comm Armature is compatible with any motor that uses the big commutator (i.e. Reedy Quad 19); this armature is also a direct replacement for our KR Outlaw 19 Motor..."
I will keep my comments to myself though regarding this type of class.
jbm38 11-03-2005, 11:00 AM Porksalot, I thought you had RIP power??? I know, well remember that those motors ran good..
Joe, have you tried the 50 degree deal yet???? Ask Beltz it works. Or like suggested just bolt on some p-94 hoods and brushes.
Have fun...
MIKE VALENTINE 11-03-2005, 12:38 PM KENWOOD, their not outlaw motors at that track, their legal. It's easy for Todd to mark the arm outlaw 19 turn.
Raptor_MS 11-03-2005, 01:07 PM 19T power has ALOT to do with the can....... Just ask Brandon of RAPTOR....
If you find a good can....keep a hold of it!

rjm70 11-03-2005, 01:42 PM just get a reedy krypton setup with laydown brushes ano only to mags it is awsome. I ran it last year at my local track it wasn't legal I just wanted to see what it would do. They wanted me back in tech b4 the race was over.LAydown brushes at 24 degrees. Hold on.

Z-Main Loser 11-03-2005, 04:54 PM Try to find a Monster Horsepower motor. It has a pink can. Paradox style I think. The arm in it is a short stack. The blank measures .656" and has 12 degrees of timing in the arm. If you're any good at it, find some good quality wire about 18 gauge and rewind it yourself. Might be able to find on on ebay.
Porksalot4L 11-03-2005, 05:46 PM wow thanks for all the info. right now im either goin with Putnam or DC from what you all say. also like the class or not thats not really what i care about. i just wanna know whats the fastest motor possible for 19t. and since my track has no rules on it then its legal. im not looking to cheat! lol i would go with RIP But alll there motors are Arcor Legal motors and i have a bunch of them already. thanks for the advice z-main Loser but trust me if i had any talent with motors i woudlnt be asking this stuff. asking me to wind a motor is the wrong move. lol it deffinatly would not be correct. im guessing it would wobble or somthing.
any more help?

dave w 1 11-03-2005, 06:00 PM joe can barley unwind licorish sp ? but he can open a mean bag of chips though. YOU should see him eat a bag of beef jerkey its not pretty!!!

dave w 1 11-03-2005, 06:06 PM lmao!!!! oh chubly wubly you kill me!!!!
Porksalot4L 11-03-2005, 06:07 PM I doubt TODD will make what he is asking for anyway... Todd seems to have a little ore sense than that.. He is asking for OUTLAW motors..>>>IE Short stacked, LARGE wire>>>Milled ARM. = NOT LEGAL
Kenwood, is all that stuff you said faster and if so where do i get that? i know a place where it is legal so you dont have to worry! :)

Anytime72 11-03-2005, 11:18 PM Joe, don't you realize that everyone you race with well almost everyone can read this post and do the same thing. Why not just race a legal motor and work on the set-up you live two minutes away from the track. what are you going to do when you go to a real race with legal motors?
Porksalot4L 11-03-2005, 11:50 PM i have roar legal motors. i want marshall's legal motors! :) is that so wrong? my cars always set up well in 19t. you do watch the races right? :) give me a call im bored.
jbm38 11-04-2005, 02:13 AM Man I can hardly wait to get back!!!! I miss all this fun!!!!
george tamayo 11-04-2005, 02:42 AM I just purchase a front and rear set of 1/12 bsr radials (pinks). I run indoor, paved, on road, mid size track. I am trying something different to save some money on foams. Can anyone tell me what kind of traction additive to use. Please help. George.
Porksalot4L 11-04-2005, 08:31 AM lol John you are missing out on alll the fun! trust me when you come race with us at marshalls you wont be dissapointed :)
joe ivo
dave w 1 11-04-2005, 09:34 AM youll be fine joe ! good luck
Kenwood 11-04-2005, 10:57 AM Look at E-rocks post... DC motorsports sells cheater arms and whole motors.. if you read further into it you get a short stacked 19T arm with larger than allowed wire and Milled slots in the armature..
Oh and YES ITS FASTER..
Porksalot4L 11-04-2005, 03:45 PM THanks Kenwood and others. im gonna look into it further tonight when i get back from the bar. :) seeya !!!

J Schreffler 11-04-2005, 04:53 PM Joe, you are the funniest person I know.
I don't think there has been 1 race day where you haven't asked to have more power.
You know just as well as I do, your car will go NOWHERE without a good setup. I don't care if you think you have a good setup right now. I bet any money that Ozzy will be willing to lend you a motor and battery just to prove your setup isn't good enough yet.
Not trying to knock ya Joe. Power isn't everything -- believe me.
Good luck at the Open House race.
Later,
Jason
dave w 1 11-04-2005, 08:29 PM there is nothing wrong with joes car he always wins in 19 turn he has better batterys now than 3/4 of you guys give him a break if nascar said for the atlanta track all ya have to run is a 8 cylinder da ya think every body would run the motor they did the week before? give the guy a break!
J Schreffler 11-04-2005, 09:21 PM Dave,
I'm not trying to give Joe a hard time. I've raced with him a long time.
I just think the power situation isn't because of motor or battery.
Think about it this way...
A few years ago, Shane Kocher and Phil Marabella were battling in 19T everywhere they went for the ORL series. You know Shane and Phil are no slouches in oval. Shane couldn't keep up with Phil... like 2/3rds to a full lap slower than Phil. It came to the point where he was blaming Phil of cheating. Shane and Phil ended up swapping motors and batteries during an event. Well, guess what. Phil went even faster and Shane stayed the same. I cannot emphasize how important chassis setup is. Even if your car feels good, you can still be off the pace. Heck, Shane thought his car was good at Marshalls at the ORL race and he was almost a lap off in stock.
Again, not knocking Joe here. I know he is a good driver. I just don't think 100% of his speed problem is motor.
Happy Racing,
Jason
jbm38 11-05-2005, 01:07 AM Schreffler,
True, very true.. Just look at Dale Jr. He probably has the most rear wheel HP in NASCAR and doesn't win?????
The DC OUTLAW 19t, looks as if they will not be produced any longer?
See Ya'
Anytime72 11-05-2005, 01:32 AM Just for the record Marty B. has been winning 19t at Marshall's lately. Joe's cars always run strong and his driving is real good and better than most at Marshall's. We only give him a hard time when he makes a post like this. He knows we don't mean any of it.
dave w 1 11-05-2005, 09:49 AM okay point taken besides joe has a handicapp you guys dont know abought . its slapper annnnnnndy !!!
hill jack 11-05-2005, 10:29 PM Im new to 19t raceing and was wondering what the difference is between Yokomo, epic, colbalt motors? Also about p94 brushes? Will they work with the brush hoods for the motors mentioned above? Or will the hoods need to be change? Any help wpuld be appreciated.
Porksalot4L 11-05-2005, 11:44 PM i agree 100% that its chassis setup that makes you fastest. i just was wondering how i can get more power also. my chassis is not good at all this weekend yet. hopefully tommorrow ill be able to figure it out better. anyways is there anyone that woudlnt use the fastest motor possible if they had the oppertunity? if 1 motor is 90 watts and the other is 100 i would think people would wanna run the faster motor. if not i dont see why they wouldnt. oh well who cares anymore. im done asking HP questions lol :)
