Want to restore the Olds 98 i just acquired! GeraldE61 11-03-2005, 08:28 AM I strip it with Paint Stipper, just dip it in, after I take the wheels off and axles off. Be careful doing this, you can break the axle mounts easily. If you don't want to take them off, cover them with aluminim foil and apply the stipper with a brush. Another great way to strip them is with a media blaster, if you have access to one. For paint, spray paint is the best, or with an airbrush, I've used both. Try to match the paint to what is one the car now. TheDarkCutlass 11-03-2005, 10:46 AM yea thats what i was gong to do, red base with what appeared to be a tanish top. Thanks for the input... also, any technique on removing the wheels? i was looking at them last nite and was kinda afraid i was going to brake the mounts for them. GeraldE61 11-03-2005, 10:52 AM Had to go look at it again, those are hard axles to remove. I'd try to rub what paint is there with some steel wool, maybe with a little stipper on it. When you get ready to paint, must cover up the tires. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
