Just thought I'd pop in a few pics of my Fall'05 efforts. This is what Keeps me busy and off the streets lately. The Willys is a JL that (before this) could have been over on the "Ugliest Slotcar" thread. Not really because of the quality of the paint job I did, but due to an awful color choice I made. This off-white is much better. The tonneau and roll bar are kinda quirky I guess, but they look kinda cool with this color. Speed holes work for me too! Thanks Homer and Slot V for reminding me in a thread from months ago. As far as the other 3 go, they are kits from Claus. Fiat, Porsche, and Station Wagon. With Claus' stuff, it's not hard to make them look good. Buy one or two from him and you'll feel the same way. Downright inspiring castings. I'm dabbling with military flat colors here and ther coated with future afterwards. Tamiya has some different colors that I'll be trying on some more Claus-Kits. Thanks for looking. dave

...of the pond!

Dave, you did a great job on all these cars!

Errr, only one little thing: The 911 wasn´t cast by me, she´s cast by a friend of mine! I have the same diecast at home since I was a child, but my buddy was a bit quicker... :drunk:

Greetings from Germany,

It's great to get feedback from you all. Checking out the work of others is one of the best things about this board. Anybody else got any new stuff they've been doing??? Let's see it.....tjd

Claus... 4 more bodies to go and I'll have caught up with my "open" projects list!!

Excellent job. I think the colors work very well. It's interesting that the military colors give the cars a more civilian look, as if they have done their regular duty on the street and were later spruced up for track use. The wagon is exceptional.

Yeah, color choices are one of the major considerations I myself wrestle with. You spend all the time to work on a custom and then when you get done, you can end up not liking the color. So, being kind of bored with the Testors color palatte, I'm always "game" to try a new brand or medium. The wagon is actually Tamiya paint. They have some different choices. We actually had a wagon this color when I was little. Now if we'd had the tinted windows, we would have been the envy of the neighborhood. dave

That station wagon looks like the Matchbox wagon that had the dog sticking out the back window...

Yeah I know, isn't it creepy? Not the same, though. I believe it's the same make, year, and model of car, but the diecast manufacturer is different. The master Claus used was made by Playart. They did it as a police or a fire chief car, and he removed the roof lights.
