Hi all, I just joined this site and am looking for some display ideas. I haven't been collecting too long, I only have seven cars, all 1:18. I only buy what I like and am not too worried about value down the road so I open the boxes. I have some of them in my wifes curio cabinet, but I am looking for some other options before I run out of room. Got any pics?

Hi Doug,

Welcome to the forum. I think you will probley do fine with the Plexi-Glass display that you can easily find online for 1/18 scale rides. These look great. Hope that helps.

I saw that cabinet on a different site with extra shelves added in. It looked really good, I think that is the direction I will be going. Unfortunetly the closest IKEA is 3 hrs away.

Another option may be checking thrift stores and yard sales for old china cabinets.

Yes! This can be a valuable source of display options and relatively inexpensive too!

I only display a few 1/18 cars at a time.
while I enjoy this scale, space limitations prevent me from displaying all of my collection. so I simply improvise.
Built a garage, a 2 car garage to be more specific. Out of an old wood wine crate. didnt cost nothing. just time sanding and varnishing.
cut a couple of scale doors, Then went thru a bunch of old car magazines, cutting out pictures to hang on the walls.
Spent a few bucks on a GMP 4 post lift, and some Jimmy Flintstone
figures.
Ertl makes some aftermarket gas station stuff, that I got pretty cheap.
and every now and then I'll change out the cars.
it makes a pretty good display.

Hey Chuck...

Your 1:18 display looks great, and was a clever in-expensive idea. I really like that Black '32, your choice of wall memoribilia, and choice of women too! :p

Thanks for sharing!

I like that garage, pretty cool. What is the blue coupe? Looks like a 40 ford, I haven't seen that one before.

Thank You. I consider this garage a 'work in progress' because I'm always tinkering with it. its alot of fun. and a great display piece.
Have a better camera now, So a better shot.
The Blue Coupe?
Of course, it's an Ertl '40 Ford.

Thanks Mike!
I REALLY like this little '32. A nice little retro rod.
The Flathead is cool. And the color scheme is perfect.
Here is a better shot:
