olesarge90 11-02-2005, 11:09 AM You just might want to jump over to MCCH and take a gander at this!!!

Sure wish I could get a hold of a ROW set as well, OH Well~olesarge90/Gill
jedimario 11-02-2005, 05:07 PM can you put the pics up on here so people who aren't members there can see them?
olesarge90 11-02-2005, 06:28 PM jedimario,
I am a fairly long time member here in HT and have been reading MCCH for just as long but only recently have I joined there and started posting.
I don't think that you would not be allowed to view that post that I mentioned but if so, I would highly recommend that anyone join MCCH. There is a world of information there on MCCH about Matchbox. They too are a great bunch of guys as well as here on HT. Hope this answered your question, Olesarge90/Gill
jedimario 11-02-2005, 10:06 PM alright, i will i guess. I can see the post but VBulliten won't let people that aren't logged in view attachments.
Atencio 11-03-2005, 12:15 AM Yeah I went ahead and joined but they still wont let me see the pictures.
Atencio 11-03-2005, 12:30 AM grrr. I give up. What looks different on the cab to make it a chase car?
edit: I see, I am still in the moderation queue as far as joining. Not sure what that means. Hopefulling it is not some hazing prep. work.
AQUA XK8 11-03-2005, 10:02 AM I joined yesterday just to see the taxi pictures. It took about 10 minutes before they processed my registration and sent me an email saying that I was all set. Then, still could not see the taxi pictures. Another ten minutes passed and I guess they finally updated their databases because then I was able to open the taxi pictures.
Lpgeoteacher 11-03-2005, 04:23 PM I joined this morning at about 7:30 got the conformation email about 7:40 It is now 2:20 PM AND STILL CANNOT ACCESS PICTURES.
accobra64 11-04-2005, 12:14 AM It just takes a little patience.
Once you get your confirmation e-mail, you should be in business.
MCCH also has a section on Johnny Lightning.
If you collect other diecast, there are all kinds of interesting forums.
HT and MCCH are both great sites to visit to broaden your knowledge
of JLs, MBs, and other diecast.
Each type of diecast has its own niche of collectors.
Cheers. Cobra
Atencio 11-04-2005, 12:19 AM I was able to finally see the pictures when I got home today from work.
Pablodragon 11-13-2005, 10:16 PM can you put the pics up on here so people who aren't members there can see them?
is the MB in this post the chase Taxi? (that we are so afraid to show here?)
http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=128153
omega_republik 11-14-2005, 03:46 AM nope, that is not it ..... and is not that we're afraid of showing it but by not posting pictures is a bit more difficult for scalpers to find them before the real collectors do. ;)
olesarge90 11-14-2005, 11:25 AM Actually the real reason for not hijacking the posters picture posted on MCCH was done out of courtesy to the posted. I am not in the habit of hijacking anyone’s pictures and posting them elsewhere without getting their permission. So my post was made to draw your attention to his post there on the MCCH forum. I do believe that most if just about all of us here have been on the MCCH forum at one time of another. If not I suggest that everyone at least visit and see why I too am an avid visitor/now member of their board as well as this one. I enjoy both for what each brings to my collecting habits.
Trust me it is not due to being afraid; just being courteous that is it in a nut shell. Olesarge90/Gill
Atencio,
There is no hazing at the MCCH! Trust me on this one!
Macs_Little_Car 11-17-2005, 02:58 PM Do not link pictures to here from MCCH, midtown did that last year and they inserted a porno picture in its place... high class people running the place over there
IMHO
olesarge90 11-17-2005, 03:50 PM Are you talking to me???
omega_republik 11-17-2005, 04:15 PM Do not link pictures to here from MCCH, midtown did that last year and they inserted a porno picture in its place... high class people running the place over there
IMHO
actually mr. rob, that link is not to a picture, and thats precisely the issue, the thread contains pictures exclusive to MCCH members only, anyways.... that links to a thread ... not a picture :o
Omega: You tried to join the MCCH two times. Neither time were you honest
in the required registration process and did not give your real name as
required by the owner of the MCCH. Nor did you respond to repeated emails
requesting more information. Had you been truthful, you would have been
accepted as a member, and been able to see the photos. If you would like to
register again, you may do so, but do try to be truthful?
The reason from these photos hidden is indeed for it to be a bit difficult
for people to steal a photo and post it elsewhere. It is not so much the
photo being taken without permission of the photographer and no
attribution, which is bad enough and a low class thing to do. (We all know
how people feel about seeing Mac's Little Car's photos seen on eBay, as
well as photo taken from Wyatt's site. It seems that the people here only
think one way about this?) What was the real problem was the multiple
taking of a photo by people who posted it as a hot link, thereby stealing
the other site's bandwidth.
During this time, the MCCH had many photos that hobbytalk did not have
access to post. So, the solution was to just steal them... despite them
being copyrighted. Remember how funny it was to talk about Mark C when he
could no longer respond to your taunts and mistruths because Bobby had
banned him? The owner of hobbytalk was notified appropriately and told that
there was a problem. He refused to edit the photos multiple times. (I guess
he thought he did not have to abide by his own TOS?) The moderators of the
hobbytalk forum in question were also asked to intervene. Neither Matt, nor
Bobby, deigned to respond. A warning was sent out with the other steps that
would be taken, with no response. Therefore, at the appointed time, one of
the moderators at the MCCH forced the issue by substituting a photo which
definitely would cause the site's operators to remove the hot links fast!
Bobby has no one to blame but himself, but to his credit, or maybe Hank's,
there is now a policy against hotlinks and warnings are now heeded.
Gee, it was not two weeks ago where you guys were cackling over doing the
very same thing to a hapless thief who did the exact same things to your
own photos on eBay. Remember this? "You Know What's Fun??"
http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showt...ight=ebay+photo
You guys are such hypocrites! Rob, and Mark are apparently people who do
the very same thing decried here? Peter, the fact that you take the basis
of your work for photowork you change does not negate the fact that you are
stealing and infringing on other's copyrights. You still are stealing.
(Just like the yellow Dodge that you decried on the recent JL card included
in the MOPAR series that was photoshopped by RC2. Remember your opinion on
that? The photo was changed, but it was still done without permission. Same
thing, you cannot have it both ways.
For some sites, the theft of this bandwidth is expensive. At that time, the
MCCH was at a critical time where we were maximizing our bandwidth allowed
by the ISP. Anything over our allocated bandwidth would have caused the
MCCH to go down and lose everything because our hosting company was looking
for that as an excuse. Other than it just being plain old theft, it was a
dirty thing to do, then laugh at the requests to remove the links. This has
happened on other sites as well. including Hot Wheels corporate. The
webmaster at HWC.com ignored the requests until I again got serious. Then
they acted like it was my fault they were taken to task and their members
were embarrassed. (And only because I used a photo that was plain text with
"Photo Stolen by a Bandwidth Thief". Waaaaaaa!)
It's amazing how the truth of history is rewritten to suit hypocrisy!
D-68pontiac 11-19-2005, 07:15 PM is the MB in this post the chase Taxi? (that we are so afraid to show here?)
http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=128153
i think that is the chase taxi because it has the rubber tires. the one they show in the pics is white but i think its from another country. seems like i remember seeing pics of some other super fasts from another country and they were also different colors than the us versions.
Scott,
And this is from one who could not follow the rules of the site and was banned as a result? You are just mad because you are not allowed there.
(Anything I have posted in this thread comes directly fm MCCH Senior Admin, Mark Curtis!, These words are not mine! Just posting on behalf of Mr. Curtis!)
(Any text below this point is mine!)
Overall,
The fine people at HTBB would get mad if you saw your pics posted elsewhere! This is over cost! We rely soley on private donations fm our citizenery for all of the MCCH's funding! We have no "Corporate Sponsorhip"! This saves the citizenery money and keeps the MCCH as a free service to all!
Adding to "Bandwidth Usage" increases costs and in return, the MCCH would then have to charge per membership! As it stands now, the MCCH is free because of this!
People, be "Bandwidth Friendly"! This keeps all of the diecast messageboards, HTBB, MCCH, JDS, HWC that we all love and count on as free services!
No one would like it if Mr. Falco (JDS) Hank (HTBB), Mr. Curtis (MCCH) charged a premium for membership! This is fact!
If an agreement cannot be reached, than fine, at least issue credit where credit is due! We could all post links to "Items of Intrest", as long as the photo itself is not reposted!
If I for example, found a peice of intrest that the MCCH could find useful, let me be the first to say that if the item was posted on HTBB, HTBB would get the credit for the item!
plankowner 11-21-2005, 08:19 PM So is this the chase taxi or not? I believe it is as well.

So I guess if I see one in the stores that does not look like this one...I need to buy it. Only makes sense to me!
glhshelby 11-21-2005, 09:24 PM that mb is actually one of the `few` that actually looks good.I`ve actually now bought 5 mb in the last 5 years. The new 56 ford casting looks pretty good also.Hopefully they`ll continue to get better and maybe put some decent wheels on them.

I agree, hot links can be a killer.
I love that Taxi. I have the all black one and it is one of my favorite diecasts I picked up this year.
Scott,
His bitch, I am not! The reason why Mr. Curits cannot post because his user ID is banned!
This is a "dead issue" and it is to be left at that!
We all love our little diecast messageboards, we also do not believe in carrying over beef fm one forum to another!
To the fine people of HTBB,
The two posts made by me in this thread is no way suppose to be looked at something "negative" or "sinister"! We are all working towards the same exact goals! The goal is to have the finest models availible by our favourite manufacturers!
We are all in this together!
viperdave 11-22-2005, 07:50 PM PEOPLE- Take a step back and look at the big picture. How about some graditude for another day ABOVE ground? Now doesn't everything else seem trivial in comparison? Sheeeesh.

Macs_Little_Car 11-27-2005, 03:09 PM i WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT THAT i OBJECTED TO MY PICTURES BEING USED FOR profit, not for education to teach other collectors.. I have no problem with our pics being used to show as an example. Both Joe's Diecast Shack and Lightning Lane have our blanket permission to use our pics anytime they want to show an example of a car or card or just to show new releases
Also would like to point out we did not stoop to substituting pornography for the pictures used.. that is low and classless no matter how you look at it
And as to copyrighted pictures, this is also untru, the pictures being shown and linked at that time were actually taken from the PM/JL B2B board and belonged to them, not anyone at MCCH.
outamyway 12-07-2005, 03:43 PM dont know if this is anything special?, but read this thread awhile back and picked this taxi up today, red with a black top white walls and i think rubber tires? (my eyes arent as good as they used to be)
anyone need? trade perhaps?
thanks, jamie
Bob Justbob 02-02-2006, 11:08 PM I post both here and at MCCH. I try to ask if I use a pic from here or there, which I do rarely, but if I do I copy it and put it in my Photobucket. That way I have no issues with hotlinking from either site. Here's my pic of the two red versions. I found the ww version at TRU this past Saturday and the Retro wheel version at Wally's on Sunday. Just lick I guess.

I need the black wall plastic tire version if you happen to have one of those.
jeep4x4 02-04-2006, 01:43 PM I need the black wall plastic tire version if you happen to have one of those.
My wife fianly found that one. So far she's found two with the white wall rubber tires. If she or I see any more with the plastic tires I'll pick one up for you.
