What area are you going to be racing in, what track? Best bet is to go and talk with the people that race at that facility and see what they are using. Either a slider chassis or a solid chassis will work good on a velodrome type track. Cap tires as far as I see there are 3 companies Murdock, TM tires and BSR. Where to buy the products at are here on the right side of this screen. The sponsors of these forums. Such as Lefthander RC, Murdock RC, as well as others. Read through some of the PRODUCT SUPPORT threads to get an idea as well of which companies offer the best customer support. Just ask if you need any further information. MURDOCKRC 11-01-2005, 01:43 PM Slider 45 the best body is the body that was built just for Veldrome racing and that is our Windtunnel #2249 Taurus XHS velodrome. These will in in stock around Mid November due to a delay and short lexan supplies right now. Rob @ Windtunnel Body Works burbs 11-01-2005, 04:05 PM there really isnt a best car.. wghat you need to do is get whatever car you use as long as you can, and run the batteries in as far as yuou can... From what i understand the older hyperdrive aldrennalin, and KGB assassin (same basic design as addrennalin) were designed for velo racing... long pod and overall long wheel base works well.. slider 45 11-01-2005, 09:39 PM thank guys im going to race at the encino velodrome and all the fast guys had tires and bodys that parma made and you cant get.what springs and tire compound would you start with and gear just ball park would be great thanks for the help p.s. i run stock & 19TURN SJacquez 11-02-2005, 02:18 PM slider 45 Go to www.southwesttour.com (http://www.southwesttour.com) message board. The racers there will answer you questions about racing at the Encino 'drome. Tires: BSR EHW silver caps Body: There are a couple of choices. The Mcallitster HS Dodge Charger and the XHS Velodrome Taurus are the only 2 bodies that are currently made. Parma will make the velodrome Monte Carlo if you order 25 at a time. A racer by the name of Frank Valentino did have some of the Parma bodies for sale at the last race. I don't know how to contact Frank but Joe Meyers may have his e-mail address. My favorite body is the HS T-bird by Protoform, too bad they no longer make it. Car: A standard Associated L30 works great at the 'drome. A DNA frontend will really tame the bumps, but a standard fornt end works if you put dampening lube on the king pins. One other thing big pinions and small spurs. See ya at the 'drome Steve slider 45 11-03-2005, 02:42 AM thanks for the help what wing and where do i mount it i saw some car with the wing past the back of the body WHY?????? SJacquez 11-03-2005, 11:33 PM To stabilize the car. As for the wing an Associated 5 inch off road wing works good with most of the kick-up removed. I usually mount my wing to the rear window with piano wire and wing buttons. swtour 11-04-2005, 03:31 AM ...btw, for those interested...the next UPCOMING Velodrome race will be Saturday DECEMBER 10th.
