I've never seen one on the bay before (or heard of one) & this does NOT look right. This one has the regular body, right?

If that's the case, i'd NEVER buy one...too easy to make your own. All you'd need is a box, tires & wheels. Not much thought into that series I see.

I beleive the 3 WT in the BTTF release was the Javlin, Corvette and Buick GN.

Worth the current $5.00 bid, but not too much more. IMO. ;) rr

I have seen "white thunders" for all the cars in the series, but they are all just white tires and boxes.

The BTTF slots are out there. I bought a set from Macks Little Cars. I've never seen a Delorean WL though.

I know there are some collectors for the WHITE LIGHTNING cars and respect their passion....
But personally, a car with white tires is just an heresy. I dislike them and will never bought any single one for my collection

Don't flame me, it's just my personnal point of view

Personally, I got sucked into the WL thing a little bit. I never spent much money on any of them, just got some through trades and actually found one myself at HL. I would just as soon they not make WL slotcars though. I could live without them. I was disappointed to hear that Round 2 is gonna make chase cars. I kinda like the idea of the deluxe pit kit with the limited edition body though.

Mabey we can have a roll call of folks who bought sealed inners. I may be wrong but I thought the WHITES were REGAL, VETTE & JAVELIN. I got a REGAL WT in mine. Anybody else???

I'd argue that there are NO white thunders in that release because they didn't do any special white thunder paint schemes. If white wheels and tires make it a white thunder, then any body will do. It was an extremely lame attempt at producing a chase car and it looks like all of 10 seconds of thought went into it. I wouldn't pay extra for a white thunder in that release. But I know that some people take whatever comes out of the factory box as being gospel truth, so if you want to call your white wheeled wonders "white thunders" - go for it. The boxes aren't sealed, so WT fever can extend to any car in the series.

For the most part I really liked the special white pearl paint jobs that were the hallmark of the white lightnings. Whenever I saw one for sale at the regular price I'd always buy it, pop off the white tires, mount up some black ones, and admire how nice it looked zooming around the track.

The chase car program is proven way to build collector interest in the diecast arena. If people actually get out to brick & morter hobby shops looking for the elusive white cars and end up buying other stuff as well, all is well. With online buying and selling the white cars are simply E-Bay fodder and the whole notion of "chasing" is somewhat diluted. Rather than being "chase" cars they become "bidding" cars. But at the end of the day, these programs provide an added little twist that doesn't hurt anyone and makes a few people very happy.

AFXToo- do you ever check out the Johnny Lightning diecast board? Their white lightning program is really strange. Depending on the car a white lightning is designated by white tires, white wheels, white paint, white interior, white base ...

Don't forget the pearl white AC Cobra with blue stripes. Not a white thunder.

Maybe JL was just trying to get rid of as much stuff as possible before the impending sale.

Maybe we should be asking Tom Lowe.
