I dont know,I seem to stumble onto a lot of things on my own that everyone knows already. But I'll tell you all anyways.

Seems like whenever I am rebuilding or working on a car,I am always having parts like brush springs and brush barrels and the like roll away and disappear.

I was shopping with my wife this afternoon at Kohls, and saw this:

PERFECT work surface!!!!!! The rubber sideas keep it nice and steadt so it doesnt slide around, and it has a nice gutter around the edge to catch those pesky parts that roll away or to catch the juice if you want to slice a london broil.
And its small enough that it fits right in the top of the tool box for when I go mobile.

Not bad for 8 bucks!!

Try using a "fast food" serving tray, works pretty well for me.

Actually,I am a chef by trade. That was how I was able to sneak it in under the wifes radar when we were at Kohls. She shook her head and rolled her eyes when she saw it downstairs on the track table before.

I just posted some pics of my portable work station on the "let's see your workbench thread". I have a transformer, test track and room to work on it. The whole thing is lined to keep parts from disappearing. I can watch TV with the family, plug in the transformer and tune some cars. My cousin, who works on model railroad trains, gave me this idea.
