View Full Version : TJ Domark - Walks Away after 15yrs
TJ Domark 10-25-2005, 12:41 PM After 15yrs of commited Oval Racing/ 3 National Championships ( some that are still under appeal ) hahahah! + Various Wins - Mainly Indoor Carpet - I've decided to hang it up and persure other forms of racing.
But I wanted to take 30 seconds and just throw out a HUGE - Thank You to all the great sponsors, and friends that I have made over the years! But there are (2) people that I would really like to express my appreciation too.
First - I owe alot of my success and a huge Thanks to Jim Dieter ( The man! ) - he's def. provided me w/ the best equiptment on the market place bar none, and countless memories/moments/ late hours in "The garage" talking about midget racing and racing in general.
The 2nd Name that comes to mind is S/N Trackside ( Scotty Ernst ) + The Entire WIS. OVAL Guys - which not only provided excitment for all of us but made me feel welcome any time I made a Trackside appearance. I think Scotty and Jim Dieter watched me grow up @ the track over the years.
Sponsors:
Custom Works / True Speed/ TM Tires/ Team 1/ Trinity/ Leisure Hours Hobbies/ Parma/ PSE/ SN Trackside/ and tooooo many others over the years!
** Before anyone starts to inquires - the only item I have left to sell is listed on eBay under: "Custom Works Aggressor" all other items have been given away to racers / or sold .
Thanks Again! Everyone for all the support and Memories!
TJ Domark

MURDOCKRC 10-25-2005, 06:45 PM I sure hate to see a great racer hang it up, but sometimes you got to do something different and what ever that is I wish you the best TJ.
Rob @ Murdock R/C & Windtunnel Racing
I was sad when I hear you were going to give it up. It has been interesting to watch you and Terry over the last few years and I have learned some of your tricks, but not enough and probably would have to hire a driver anyway.
Good Luck with whatever you do.
AJ from Iowa.
THE DARKSIDE 10-25-2005, 08:57 PM Good Luck

I hate to see anyone hang it up....It was sure nice to see you that night you showed up at our track here in Indiana. I think you might remember the track...Summit Raceway in Fort Wayne.....
One particular racer you helped that night wanted me to post something...."thanks for the new tires that night....sorry to see you go. Wish more people were as friendly, and helpful as you are!!!" TIM

Sent you a PM on here
Mike Seeman 10-31-2005, 12:17 AM TJ... Welcome to the "He used to good once" club. :) I can remember when you tagged along to so many races. But my favorite that i can remember was the nationals at Tri-Clone 1997ish I think. Dude, you ran through a whole roll of printer paper on my Turbodyno that weekend! Thanks to you and Terry for helping me out last winter when I had to "scratch the itch" to race. You owed me one. Good luck with racing. Keep in touch.
Mike Seeman
TJ Domark 10-31-2005, 07:09 PM To Kris -
Thanks for the kind words buddy! If I wanted to leave anything behind ( Besides the competition ) is the image that I was NEVER a stuck up "Factory Driver" and that if anyone walked up to ask a question that I took the time to answer + if I had extra tires ( New + used ) that i was able to pass them down to other racers that could use a hand!
TO MIKE SEEMAN!
Dude! You are def. right about the 97' Tri-Clone! Man, I think you had to rebuild the slave motor a few times that weekend....... BUT.... if you remember, I was bad fast for those first few rounds of qualifying and I think I made a huge impression, mainly b/c I was the little 14 or 15 yr old kid sitting in the corner w/ nothing but a Trinity EV10 and a Tekin BL310 charger / Cheap Novak 410-M5 speedo/ and Cap tires that were about 60 runs old. I think I sat in the # 2 spot after the 1st round and keep getting bumped down! Couldnt beat putting new tires on the car every round back in those days!
I can tell ya thou - thats def. one of the best memories I will take with me! B/c I took 2nd hand equiptment + alot of hard work = beating alot of top factory drivers. Man! those were fun days!
Wow! Look @ me --- already telling stories :)
