On a direct drive 1/24th scale slot car correct me if I am wrong but when you have a 9 tooth pinion and a 28 spur you will have more top speed then if you had a 9 tooth pinion and a 32 spur. Am I correct in saying that when the gears are closer in size you get more top speed and less torque out of the turns.

the 9/28 is a 3.4 gear ratio and the 9/32 is a 3.7 gear ratio the 8/28 will be the faster ratio top end and the 9/32 will be faster comeing off the turns but will not have the top speed that the 9/28 will have
