I know everyone in Van Wert is running 5800 BL and most of them may attend this race. I'd prefer 5800.

illinois, michigan, iowa and wisconsin have made the 4300 the standard.. havent seen anyone run the 5800 ... Not sure how many guys from these states will attend, but majority wise i think it is the way to go..

All the guys in Elkhart run the 5800, including the group from the Lansing area. Could split them up.

if enough people show to run two classes we will then.i dont want anyone to be left out cause they have a different systems.i would say the 4300 and 5800's though.one thing we are trying to do is get this race going and over in a timely manner so the classes are limeted but not set in stone.i want to pack the house so the more the marryer.summit is looking for some more sponsership for this race also so the pot size might be increasing.they will also be giving away door prizes also.

In Cincy at WOH we are running the 5800, I think offering both might work but as mentioned number of classes may be an issue. It would be safer to to just make a decision on just one so the the race and the racers can be prepared ahead of time.

10-23-2005, 05:47 PM
hey John how's it going over in cincy ?

trying to make it over next month sometime

brushless doesn't run at summit so they don't know what class would be best to run

so if someone wants to run brushless let them know wich one you want to run and they will take a pole to see what class will have the most

5800 seems to be the standard in Michigan, but the 4300 is popular too. There's typically 2-3 more people in 5800. Everyone has both. 5800 was a lot of fun at Pete Russel's!

Is there a speed controller rule in the BL class????

I might be able to get 7 or more guys from Elkhart to run brushless there. I'll pass the word friday and try to get a count. Van Wert has a good group of brushless too from what I hear. I think they use the 5800 also.

I haven't driven one yet but I've been seeing them run in Elkhart. They are running a little bit faster with the 5800s then they did with 6 cell stock. I ran my 19 with them last week and was turning the same lap times. I'm planning on getting one after the first of the year so I can run there every week. Brushless gives more time to set up the car without burning up brushes in the process. I still like to tweak on motors thoughs.

Just noticed the dates on this one.. Dang.. Its the same week as our anual turkey race.. 50+ for this one every year.. Its the day before, but i dont know if i could handle a whole day of racing, then a 7 hour trip to run again LOL..

Hmm Thats odd.. Seems like 5800 is what you guys run in indiana..... Wisconsin, Ill, Iowa, ect all run the 4300... Im not a huge fan of brushless, but its pretty much eating away our stock class up here.. i think it is going to take over soon.. Last year a raced a few times down in indi and would like to run again... we have had 4 indoor races this year.. we average 10-12 in brushless4300 every week.. and it gets bigger every week..

Please Please Please change this rule. It is not fair to say you have to have a certain speed control. I don't have an SS or SS+. They don't fit in my car good at all. I have a GTB and a LRP Sphere. There is no difference on the track.

hey man whats up
I'll be racing at stout field in Indy

I won't be at summit until the money race.

Walleyworld

from what's been posted
why not just say 5800 brushless class (run whatever speedo)
enough show up for 4300 run that class also

but

to run a smooth show I wouls say if there isn't atleast 4 cars to run any class then no class.
since your paying out top 4.

rule changed then.5800 and any speed controler.now hopefully this will make everybody happy.i say leave it up to the guys that are running it to make the choice, hopefully the guys from the other tracks that came up with that rule will be cool with it also.i just want everyone to have a good time and be able to race and have a chance on winning some cash.
