Anybody know how to fix the tranponder for the Orion personal lap counting system?

Mine went south on me. Will Orion fix them? If so how much ?

Have you tried putting a new end on it. It's just a basic remote controll led from radio shack.

Ritchie,
havent tried that. i havent done anything to it. i just thought people might have had a similar problem where it stopped counting and had a quick fix. i will disect it when i get time and see if anything is loose.
the one guy at my local track said his quit and he took off the shrink wrap and resoldered the wires and it came back to life. if that doesnt work I will try putting a new remote lead on it

thanks for the tip, see ya next month.

i went and bought the infra red eye, but here i took the case apart and the orange wire came off the circuit board, so i soldered it back on and she works again...so now i have a spare eye in case that breaks.

Radio Shack - part # 276-142
It comes with two I/R bulbs one for tx and one for rx.
Use the blue or tinted bulb for the transponder.
Wire it up with long side of the wire on the bulb to the orange wire
and the short side to the yellow.
Cost $3.50
