With the available tire patterns continuing to shrink for this class I was just curious what you thought?
Losi no longer makes Ifmar pins for the fronts.
At the Nationals we were all cutting rears to make the fronts.
Block heads, Taper pins, studs.. That is about all there is.
What can we do about it?

It's so easy to cut a rear to make a front whats the big deal?

Tire pattern selection is VERY limited and now they have stopper production of the fronts of some patterns.

From what I have seen in this area the vast majority of 4 wheelers have always had to make their own fronts. But I have always wondered why there were not more choices available for fronts.

4WD as a class seams to keep falling on its face even when they get something right. 4wd started to take off again this last 2 years with new buggie kits, so what happens, most of the front tires are stoped in pproduction. Yet Losi gos and brings out the molds to run parts for xx-4 becasue the xxx4 is not working well at the tracks they need it to work well at. It is like the machine that was Losi and amaking good kits and buisness choices, can't find enough ways to trip over them self. There still doing a number of good things, yet finding ways to just tick off drivers, and damage markets they have a good lock on.

I just started racing 4wd this year and the limited tire selection was something that came up with other guys too. With the range of tires that Proline makes for truck and 2wd buggy they have 1 front tire 4wd buggy. I spoke with Dennis Anderson (Birdman) when he was at a local track representing his motors and Panther tires earlier this year if they had anything for 4wd and he said only for 1/8th scale. Losi is dropping tires for the class yet as has been reported they are resurrecting the xx4. What will they use for tires??? No cutting and gluing tires isn't hard just time consuming. True enough supply and demand rules when it comes to production, but I think the manufacturers are missing the boat when it comes to electric 4wd.

I look at 1/8 scale and see all the choices they have and it irks me.
We have a huge 4 wheel drive class at our track. At the MOD Nationals there were 6 or 7 heats of 4 wheel drive buggy.
I talked with a rep of Proline and discussed it. He said to start telling you hobby shops what you want. And write letters and emails to manufactures and distributors and let them know what you want.

From Proline:
Dan,
Thank you for supporting Pro-Line/Protoform products. At this time we
are looking into offering more 4wd front tire other than the Holeshot
however, there is nothing set in stone.

Thank you for your suggestions.

We have some prototypes in testing right now, if they work out we should have them available around the first of the year :)
