View Full Version : 4wd class makeing a comeback?
viper311 10-12-2005, 09:01 PM Tell me what you guys think about the 4wd class makeing a comeback. Kyosho has the new lazer zx-5 Team losi has a new 4wd that is based off the jrxs and soon Yokomo will soon debut a new 4wd. Will it be a fad or will itfade out?
Fantom 10-13-2005, 09:26 AM Losi isn't going to make the JRX-S proto-type buggy.
Ennjay 10-13-2005, 10:21 AM I hope it's not a fad, cause 4wd is the best electric offroad class.
JJ MBX-5 10-13-2005, 07:48 PM I hope it is not a fad. I love racing my 4WD. Their so fast and agile! Kyosho, Yokomo, MRC, X-Factory and Jconcepts come out with new 4WD. Losi and Durango cars area little aged but still fast. I think its weird that 2WD only has 3 manufactures and the less popular 4WD has so many more.
Lets all hope this is no Fad. Grab your 4WD and get to the track!
viper311 10-13-2005, 08:06 PM sweet anybody race 4wd in ohio?
JJ MBX-5 10-13-2005, 09:34 PM Yup!
Ashtabula R/C Raceway in Jefferson Ohio. Track is in the fairgrounds. See Ashtabula Racing thread in this forum for more info. A good mix of cars. Some XXX4s, XX4s, my BJ4, and sometimes a MRC.
B-man777 10-13-2005, 10:40 PM hi all:yes it's great to see the 4wd electric buggies making a comeback they are fast stable and look great zooming around the track.lets not forget that schumacker has the new cat 4000 whenever they decide to relaese it hear in the usa.
DJ1978 10-14-2005, 08:04 AM The class is huge in Michigan.
I run an Indoor Dirt track in Ann Arbor Michigan, Washtenaw RC Raceway. We have averaged 2 full heats of racing with it looking like it will be even bigger this year. It is the home track of the RC Product Designs TC3 "O" so there is always a good showing... but virtually every 4 wheel drive buggy on the market is usually there. The TC3 "O", Losi and the BJ are the most popular with some Schumachers thrown in.
We start racing on November 19th!!! Hope to see some of you Ohio Racers there!

Ennjay 10-17-2005, 11:33 AM No website for Washtenaw Racing, but we talk alot about it on rcxxx.com, and we'll have some pictures of the facility after the track building. I'll see if I can get some pics of last year up on the site somewhere.

rcsalvage 10-25-2005, 01:28 PM hi all:i to am excited to see 4wd electric buggy class making a comeback, hope it's not just a fad.i've been on the mrc/academy site recently and i see no updates on there ne 4wd eltric buggy or touring car, what's up with that?
We just started racing 4wd this season and it is a blast!! Wish I'd done it sooner  I race the Academy Pro and it's great. The MRC site is a little slow on updates. Go to 4wdrc.com and they have a forum directly relating to the MRC buggy. If you need to order parts call MRC and ask for Tim, he is the man in the know. If you have any questions please feel free to email me (put MRC Buggy in the topic field) and I'll help as much as I can.
