Guys we will be having our first race of the season inside on Friday night. No this is not going to be our normal night. I have a previous meeting I have to attend on Saturday. What we are doing is we are going to have practice from 6-11 on Wendsday night. This will allow thoughs that have new cars or just tuning their old one in some track time. There will a $3 fee for the practice section. Friday nights race will be a non points event. The winter season points will starts the end of this month. We will be running stock EDM and truck classes,18 T and mini, and also i hope to get a spec late model class going. Racing will be $12 for the first class and $6 for each additional. I hated to raise entry fees from $10 and $5 respectively but I was left with no choice. Since we have opened 3 years ago ins. and heating costs have doubled then some. I really enjoy having the track but I can't keep taking money out of my pocket. Also I know that Redneck is racing for prize money at year end. That will not happen here. I don't feel it is good to reward the top guys. First of all they have usually the better equipment so why give them more resources to distance the advantage over the other guys. Face it "MONEY BUYS SPEED" . There are alot of guys that will and have supported me every week that i don't feel its fair to leave them out. Second,I
have seen enough arguements over racing for fun that if money is involved it will become worse. When you are paying a payout of money you have to have cerfified scales. They are very expensive. So what I am going to do is give out door prizes weekly. This way here the guy that supports me weekly and is finishing in last spot every week has just as good a chance to go home with something extra. Our regular race nights after this week will be on Wendsday and Saturday nights at 7:00. Doors will open at 4:00 this Friday. Racing will start at 7.

Guys after thinking about a few thing this afternoon i decided to give the modfied trucks a try. Last year we ran a few races and some guys liked the modified motors in the trucks. We did run and will continue to run a stock motored truck class. This will allow guys that want a little more power to run either a modified motor or a brushless system. Our goal is to have as many racers as we can weekly having fun and this option may intice a few more to come out and join us. We will though change one thing that we didn't do in the past. Wings and side dams will be allowed. Basically the only rules will be it must have truck body and weigh 3 lbs. 12 oz. . We may also institute truck arm mandatory. That will be addressed after talking to the racers that show up. If you guys have any imput please e mail it to me that way there it can be addressed with a more one on one deal so noone thinks we did this or that to favor someone. As we have done from day 1 at Eagle One Motorplex if a rule or change is made it will be because it is better for our racing as a group and not because someone has more money or is trying to get an advantage over everyone else. I understand right now the economy is not in the best shape. So we are trying to come up with ways of making changes so guys don't have to spend money on new stuff to race when they already have stuff they can use. We will allow guys to run the same truck in the stock class as long as he has a stock motor with a legal truck body.
