As of around 3:00 PM this afternoon, Thunder Road has a new carpet layout. Track dimensions of the oval will be approximately 80'x40'; and we have 80'x54' to play with for a road course layout. And, there is even room to lay out a monster trioval arrangement; with the two *short* chutes being around 50' each.

All thanks to Kenny Hogan of Raptor, who flew in to lay the carpet; and his lovely wife, Susanna. And a nice word to the usual suspects who always show up to help in any upgrade of the Thunder Road facilities. We've reworked and enlarged the pit area, and made some other improvements. Come check it out!

We'll be finishing up the detail work, lights etc., at tHunder Road tomorrow. First chance to practice on the newly carpeted 80' x 40' oval will be Wednesday the 19th; and we'll be open late on Friday the 21st. The USPANCARCHAMPIONSHIPS racing begins on Saturday, the 22nd. If necessary, we will run the mains on Sunday, the 23rd; otherwise, we'll try to get everything in on the 22nd.

We just finished installing the PVC for the oval track. I took a few laps, and the track layout works beautifully! The rehab is complete; just a little picking up and cleaning up remains.

We'll be open Friday evening for practice; Saturday morning at 9:00 for additional practice; and the USPANCARCHAMPIONSHIPS Race will begin at 3:00 PM. Thunder Road RC Speedway in Gordonsville, Virginia has a brand spankin' new oval layout; 80' x 40'; ready to go.

Can't wait to hit the new track tomorrow night! This should be very interesting because none of us locals have had a chance to practice until tomorrow night either. Everyone will be experiencing the new track for the first time. Can't get much more of level playing field than that!
