I am wanting to get started in racing Offroad Stadium Trucks. I was wondering where are some good tracks to run at, and what is a good truck to start with? Thanks

signguy, Planet RC is located in Indianapolis and is a fine indoor off-road track. They usually have a big turnout so you will have plenty of people to race against and since we are heading into fall\winter you are picking a great time to get started.

Here is the link to the Planet RC site:

As far as what truck to buy I would get either an Associated T4 or a Losi XXX-T MF2. You really can't go wrong with either. Planet RC carries both and has plenty of parts for both. Hope you enjoy the hobby!

About how much money should I expect to spend getting started? I am willing to spend the money to buy good stuff.

It breaksdown this way:

Losi MF2 Truck Kit $250
Radio $225 (Synthesized Airtronics MX-3S)
Servo $40 (Hitec brand)
Speedcontrol $130 (Novak GT7)
Battery Charger $100 (MRC Superbrain 969)
Batteries $180 (Get three packs)

Total: $925

You can go cheaper or more expensive. To save money definitely get a synthesized radio. It may look cheaper to get a non-synthesized radio but once you start buying crystals it will start to add up. The Associated T4 truck is about $50 cheaper than the Losi.

Talk to the people at Planet RC. There are alternatives to what I have listed above. These choices are just my opinion but it does give you an idea of what it takes to get started.

Dont skimp on ELES, it will only haunt you latter.

My self I run a JRXS3, like the Air. its no crystals. I have had it for 3 years now and love it. I have both a GTX and GT-7. Both are good.

As far as trucks go, I have both of thoose as well. I have a MF-2 and a T-4. No prefernce. some like the Losi on Off-road. and I run the T-4 in Lafyette on a dirt oval. But I have ran the losi there as well.

I've seen as few as 15 to 50 depends. Summer time the crowd varies but in the fall and winter get there early to get a spot. LOL
