midtown 01-14-2006, 10:50 PM I was so excited about these, that I bought a Greenlight board for HT. Hope to see it online soon.
edseldave 01-14-2006, 10:58 PM I havent got my set yet , hope they arrive soon !!
69Stang 01-14-2006, 11:08 PM Hey, anyone want to split a set? I am after the mustangs, but will split a set right down the middle if you want, 6 cars, 6 cars. PM if you want to. Thanks.
pms485 01-15-2006, 12:17 AM I got my first set yesterday!!! WOO HOO!! EXCELLENT cars! Of course, UPS (or whoever delivered it) punctured the box and damaged one of the Mustangs. So, I stripped it and dismantled it to see how it was made. I'll pick up another one to replace it. They're shockingly similar to JL, but the wheels are two-piece. The size is nearly identical.

Can we some pictures of this disassembled Mustang?
Lovemy71Camaro 01-15-2006, 12:39 AM Aren't these a little more expensive than Johnnies?
Atencio 01-15-2006, 01:01 AM yeah, they are about $5.00

If they castings are nicely done, it looks like this going to be the strike against them for me.. I collect most all the Johnnies that come out with the exception of some of the tampo cars.. I think I'll probably be limiting my Greenlights to the 2nd Gen Camaros and the GTOs or the occasional that strikes my fancy. :)
Scott Moen 01-15-2006, 08:38 AM Hi All,
I got my set the other day. All the cars are FANTASTIC ! ! I was only after the Mustangs so my friend is taking the other six. I can't wait to see what they bring out for second series of these. And if you get a chance, check out their website ....... www.greenlighttoys.com . They have a preview of their new 1:18 (I believe) '68 Mustang Coupe that is coming out ! ! ! VERY COOL !
Have a great Sunday all.

Looks like it'll be a nice looking car when it's all finished.. Hopefully it'll be priced well and can give RC2/Ertl a little competition.
edseldave 01-15-2006, 10:05 PM Looks like a first ... A 1/18 Mustang coupe !! Hope they design the molds so they can also make a '67 version ......

Wow.... a California Special version! I beleive thats a first in diecast. It looks like these guys are filling a lot of missing gaps from other manufacturers....at least where the Mustangs are concerned. If that is a photo of the actual model, it looks pretty good so far. If these are even close in detail to the HW 61 cars with a competitive price, I'd give them a hard look.

Exactly. Now let's get that '67-'68 Mustang coupe out in 1/64, too!

I feel ya brutha.....but I'm partial to fastbacks. I'd prefer to see a nice '68 GT 428 CJ. I know Ertl made one and it is a cool model for the money, but I pay a few more bucks for a better one.

Oh yeah, now you're talking. The '68 Mustang fastback hasn't been done well by anyone. The Matchbox is too chunky, the Johnny Lightning missed the mark entirely (which explains why that casting hasn't been used in forever), and the Hot Wheels is a little light in the detail department, although the newer casting is better than the original. Of the three, the nod goes to Hot Wheels.
In other words, there's room for improvement.

Oh....you are talking 1:64 scale. You are correct...noone has done that one right in 1:64 scale yet. I was talking 1:18 scale though.

I don't have the room or the money to collect 1/18. :o Get so much more bang for the buck in 1/64, and I can play with them, too.
I'd feel very weird playing with 1/18 cars. Although I have considered picking some up for junk cars if I ever get a 1/18 monster truck...
vanalan78 01-16-2006, 01:35 AM I saw the add in my last issue of Die Cast X but the 1:64 cars were not online yet. They are now! I forgot about them. :) They look cool, but I'll still stick with JL for the most part.
