i saw this one at KBToys.com and had to have it, being a 1:1 Ranger owner. but the chassis is typical toy quality, i.e. 380 motor and no suspension. so i decided to modify it. here's what i have so far:

it's got an aluminum ladder frame, drivetrain from my E-Maxx with a solid rear axle, still independent up front, both axles narrowed, 2.2 Pro-Line Moabs,JR FM radio and soon to have working lights and turn signals.

it tops out around 20mph, which is exactly 1/6 of the 1:1's 120. it should come in around 17lbs, again perfectly scale.

still a work in progress. for anyone interested, here's the buildup thread:

My ranger weighs a lot more than 102lbs, are you sure that's scale? LOL, I love the project, I've been following it at scale4x4.

i figured scale weight as 1/6 of 1/6 of 1/6 of 3700 lbs. think about it. a model 1/6 the SIZE of my Ranger would be 17 ft long, 5 ft high and a foot wide. and weigh 616 lbs (6 of those Ranger-slabs would make a full-size Ranger). 1/6 of that would be 17 ft long, 10 in high and a foot wide, and 102 lbs (36 Ranger-rods). 1/6 of THAT gets us down to the size of my rig, and 17lbs, each one a Ranger-cube.
