What's the rest of the story? Any other special features (deleted scenes, podcasts, etc.)? Will the second half of the season then be released separately (a la seasons 2 and 3 of "Lost in Space" or will it only be released as a whole season later?

Read this at digitalbits. Nothing confirmed but expect podcasts, deleted scenes and featurettes will be included. $50 full price. As for the rest of the season, nothing mentioned.

OK So, we got the Season One Five-Disc set that includes the Miniseries and a whole host of extra's for ~USD$42. Now, they're trying to sell us a half-season set of Ten Episodes for MORE than a thirteen episode Season Set w/a 3 hour Miniseries for MORE?!?

Nope. Ain't happenin' w/this White Boy....

It's the standard fare for all of the Sci-Fi Channels series on DVD. They release the portions of the seasons as they air.

I never could make sense of the Farscape DVDs.

They do? Look how long it took to get a Galactica Season 1 set.

They didn't do that w/the Stagate series, to my knowledge. They've only released them as complete series sets. Plus, I think it's more a matter of who ultimately holds the rights for which series.

Ain't happening with this brown guy either. I love BSG. It'll be only the third series I'll collect on DVD... but not in half season increments. I can wait.

Yup, they sure did do it with Stargate. Hell, they released it originally as single discs containing only four episodes at a time.

Well, dang me to heck. I didn't know that! :o

Thanks for the correction, fella's. Still ain't playin' that game w/BSG, tho.

Well, I knew that about the four episode sets, but not the half-season sets. Weren't those four episode sets not in chronological order?

I already have the first half of season two on DVD.

All I'm missing are the extras. :)

That's too expensive for 10 episodes. That's crazy!

So will the entire second season eventually get released? Or will they only release it only in two parts?

What did SciFi do with SG?

My guess is they will later release the complete season 2 set. I can wait.

... and bites itself in the @$$ with a price-point that's insane, almost ensuring it won't sell well. And, of course, then they'll use that to say "but we didn't sell many of those, so are considering not making a Season Two complete set....

:freak:

I picked up the first season set at Wal-Mart for a decent price - significantly under suggested retail. If they have the Season 2.1 set, I'll get it - for one, I can't wait to see the extended cut of "Pegasus."

Digitalbits has confirmed this half season set will contain all the podcasts, 40 deleted scenes and previews of the second half of the season. Also(but not confirmed yet) an extended version of "Pegasus" that is 12-15 minutes longer. Hope whatever dvd plans they have for the entire season includes all this stuff. Can you spell R-I-P-O-F-F.
