I have a question for you. My pc seems to lock up for no reason about once and sometimes twice a day. Doesn't make any diiference if the pc is active or idle. Have disabled all screen savers, power settings and even the A/V program to see if it made any difference.
Any thoughts?
Thanks John

Make sure the operating system has all the updates and that all drivers are up to date. What OS is it?

Make sure to run a disk cleanup and disk defrag. In addition to that you may want to consider downloading a spyware cleanup tool like adaware or spybot.
If you use Charter Highspeed internet and use their antivirus software make sure you do not remove "backweb". It is listed as spyware and if you remove it the Charter antivirus will not update itself anymore.
