Hi

I bought a bunch of JLXT. Not being content with the stock tires, i MUST buy silicone tires for EACH of my cars. I know, its a disease. I could just have 4 pairs of tires for a 4 lane track, and switch the tires every time i siwtched cars, but NOOOOOO, i NEEED tires for every single chassis, plus SPARES!!!

Anyway, supertires http://www.supertires.com/ sells silicone tires at $0.60/pair (the best price I can find) for orders of 100 pairs or more. As irrational as I am, I still have trouble justifying this purchase. However, if i can find 3-5 people who want 10-15 pairs each, I could swing that.

I have used supertires before, and while the are not as sticky as say wierd jacks, they do not strech over time. overall they are really good tires.

Any interest?

Mike

Hey Mike try Tom Heisters

Click on the Silicone link and look at the s101. They are .75 a pair but they are the best Tuff-one slip ons in my opinion.

are the tires in color or plain black. I prefer colored tires. I'll go in as long as you'll accept a payment from paypal.

I could go for 10 pairs, and I'd also prefer to go Paypal. Do you have to get all the same size/style in those 100 pairs, or can I get skinny Tjet tires?

hi

well i ran out of tires, and i hadnt gotten alot of interest (thanks seth and rick), so i ended up buying 2 Bags-O-Rejects from weird jack (about 400 tires). i am only after the afx sized tires, and i expect i will have lots of tject and tough one left overs (probably 200 or so tires). i will offer those here first, and then they will go to ebay.

i do like super tires, and would like to make another order, but that will not be for several months. if someone does make a super tires order, i would like to get some (say 25 pairs).

with a supertires order you can mix abnd match colors and sizes.

thanks

Actually Mike, you really need to get 2 or 3 different sizes of each type of tire you'll need plus some spares. If you need to supply the rubber for all 4 lanes at the same time you could justify buying a dozen pairs or so just to support the swap & run scenario. Multiply that times the number of unique wheel combos you have to fit (TJets, LL, Tyco, Tomy, G-Plus, XT, Specialty, etc.) and the numbers get up there. With the TJets I would get silicones for the front too, perhaps in a couple or more sizes. This adds up.

Most stock tires actually look better than silicones so the only advantage I see to putting silicones on display shelf cars is to avoid the rubber drying and cracking problem. Otherwise, as you allude to, it's a luxury to go with silicone tires on your entire collection. Yeah, I understand the desire. What stopped me from heading down that path is the realization that you should have a combination of different tire heights to tune each car for its optimal performance. There is variation among simliar cars, even TJets. Having a better tire mix gives you that tuning ability. To better manage the mix you should get each size tire for each type in a different color. But black looks best on the display shelf ... which is yet another reason to keep the shelf cars outfitted with stock tires.

I don't see a problem and I appreciate your effort to spread the savings around.
