Woods X-13/15

I won so many 6-cell stock races with those cars! Probably run with anything out there today on flat carpet! Maybe I should knock the dust off my 15? Just kidding KSG for LIFE

I remember when I ran an agitator. Was a good car in it's day. Also had a Trinity Evolution 10 (the one with the battery down the center...not the SS). Ran that in Oval and it actually did very well at a lot of tracks. That was with 6 cell modified!!! Don't think they would compete very well with either my KSG or 05 Maverick but at the time they did well.

The first time I ever ran oval I ran a Associated RC12i in 1/12 Stock and won the B main at a weekly race at Lake Whipporwill.

At first I got a RC10L2 for my rookie year then the L3 followed by a GForce, Hyperdrive SSE Pro, another L3 and McAttack. I just built an L4 that is more of a converted L3.

My favorite: the out-of-the-box L3 with these smallish front springs. Being hungry for a more advance car i'll have to choose between CW or KSG; L4 still has the horribly small pod difficult to squeeze a motor in.

About nine or ten years ago I picked up a used Hyperdrive STX from my buddy and loved it on our banked track. I think it was my first three shock car and got me to within three laps of the fast guys at my local track.lol,,alright four laps

Composite Craft Lynx 2 - "floating" rear pod w/damper tube & sway bar, wide car - first with a "road course" 3 & 3 chassis, then later with all 6 slots on the left (mine had a custom cut chassis with an Assoc. front end instead of the stock beam axle). Still have it, almost ready to run, right next to a couple of big trophies from the early 90's...

Had a Lynx that i did well with at small banked carpeted ovals but loved the EV10 SS when the three shock car came out!!!! Did well with that one everywhere. Now we use the HyperDrives great cars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well back in 1989 started with a MRP GP10.. very cool car in oval but better in figure 8 racing..2nd car I had was a TRC Lynxx II..great on roadcourse but no luck on ovals..Then got a 10L got me to the top for many years..I still got the MRP and 3 10L's hanging on the wall but ditch the Lynxx

I still have a Lynx car sitting in the corner of my shop, it was a decent car. I use to have a TRC disruptor it ran great.

I would say that my orignal wide 10L was one of my favorites. They were simple and effective. I won a lot of races with that thing.

Mine would be the X-15. Nothing before or since has been as dominant in carpet racing as that car. I am actually planning on putting mine together. I fugre it should still compete well in stock as a second class.

ev10 LSD (left side drive)

that car was awsome... bite off the corner like a dog on the postman!

i still have a X star reverse motor NIB, not for sale,.. but mod class with the LSD was the best.

Cars from the past:

Bolink Eliminator - road course
RC10L - Graphite
Some 10L conversion kit - forgot the brand.
Excelsior - Narrow rear pod combined with TRC front end.
Trinity - LSD - that car handled great ... but good LSD stock motors were hard to find - especially when running against 36 degree Monsters.
HPI - probably one of the best cars ever - very good front end.
Superior - LSD and RSD - ran them
10L3 -
Savage Motorsports - Headhunder HS300 with Custom Works Velodrome frontend.

Now I just need to get something new.

why u need reverse rotation motor for left side drive? only need it for right side drive with belt! i ran lsd for a couple of years with trinity car, won a lot of races with it. was a ev-10, then used it on a switchblade, won races with it also.
motor and spur turning in same direction, right???? still have gears and belts,
and cars. also have lynx with associated front end, BAD ASS CAR. also it is the narrow version.
i guess i am old rrrrriiiiighttt.

I remember those days when you, the Strong's and the Flying Dutchman all were sporting those Lynx II cars, and laying serious whips. I still have mine and take it off of the shelf every once and a while to see just how far chassis technology has come. Nice to see you're still around Mike.

Yep. I started looking at these boards a few months ago. Last race was Feb. 98 - rained out Velodrome in Encino. Thinking about getting back into it for the next season.

ahh -- I had the OM-10 too.

HMM started out with an RC10L Graphite>>

Updated that with composite craft LTO chassis and a cheetah front end..

Ditched that for a CC LYNX2 elite.. bought an LTO chassis and some kind of purple shock.. My god every time you hit a bump with that car you had to adjust about 15 turnbuckles to line it back up...LOL... Very fast car though compared to 10L>> I seem to recall buying technicraft turnbuckle kit and SOME BRAND???Escapes my name>> of magnesium hubs for it... I loved the camber adjustment on those..step 1 insert kingpin into vice.. Step 2 beat it to death with a hammer.. step 3 polish.. step 4 custom 2 degree kingpin...LOL..

Sold that car and got a Hyperdrive Hyper10RS.. that car was unstoppable for aa few years... that was the first of the 3 shock cars for me..And who can forget the SERVO mount on that car....Plate bolted to the beam front end with the servo actually riding in front of the front end...LOL.

Also things that stick in my head from the OLD oval days are> B&R motors (Magnum and Bullet) Stock motors with some Crazy amount of timing in them...lol. Wimpy motors>>> Matched batteries...I remember when these came out>>>Sanyo matched 1200 batteries by trinity...LOL.. HANDMADE Sanyo 1700SCRC packs...I can remember paying crack prices for the really high number sets.. then of course the trinity slot machine motors...LOL

My firts car, a Bolink LTO.

Burnt 8 servos and one speedo with it. The shocks absolutely sucked so I replaced them with a silicone damper tube and gained 4 laps with it. Never could get the front suspension working smoothly. But I never brole ONE chassis part on it except for the axle. I raced it, my friend raced it, my dad raced it, so did my neighbor

I vaguely remember it.. And I mean vaguely....I never had one...But I remember 2 die hard PB sizzler guys at the local track... However I seem to recall those 2(despite talking about how great the car was) consistentantly battling it out for last place in the J stock main.... Their response to why they were the slowest in the building despite having the "best chasis on the planet" their words not mine was " we dont have motor and battery sponsors or thousands of dollars worth of equipment like the guys wining the A main" Reason I remember that so clearly is because back then when I was a newb altogether I somehow smoked them with an almost stock RC10L a pro tech charger and 1 pack of 1200 batteries, and my too cool futaba Magnum sport>>Your only adjustments with that bad boy were steering centering and throttle centering.. point being that car was the biggest POFS on the Planet IMHO..
