I'm considering buying a John Deere Lawn Tractor 1998 model LT 133 with a 13 hp Kohler Command motor. My question is in regards to the dependability of this motor. Does anyone know the reliability history of it? Also, if it has had problems, what were they?

kohler makes good engines, it should last you a good long time with little to no problems, that is if it was taken care off, airfilter and regular oil changes, if it has a oil filter, regular on those. just regular good care of the engine.

It looks clean and starts right up. I just wanted to be sure it was a well designed long lasting motor before I committed to the purchase. Thanks.
