He was on the the Today Show promoting it this morning, and from the clips he showed he showed it looks pretty promising. According to him it will be mostly 70mm archival footage that's never been shown before along with some new CGI stuff, Michael Light who put together the beautiful Apollo photo book "Full Moon" helped in locating the new footage and cleaning it up digitally.

Hanks also said the HBO mini-series From the Earth to the Moon DVD will be reissued in conjuction with it's premier.

Curiously, right after Hanks segment they ran a commercial for From the Earth to the Moon Signiture Edition that says it's available now, so I'm guessing it came out yesterday, unless it was played before it was supposed to.

Sorry, I should have been clearer, I assumed everyone is an Apollo nut.

Magnificent Desolation is a 3D IMAX film directed by Tom Hanks. it starts at our closest IMAX theater on the 23rd.

From the Earth to the Moon was an HBO mini-series about the NASA Moon program created by Tom Hanks a few years ago. And an outstanding one, imho.

Not a big Apollo buff, no. I am, however, familiar w/From the Earth to the Moon tho haven't seen it all the way thru.

Thanks, tho.

Has anybody got the From The Earth To the Moon signiture edition? I'm curious if it's a worthy upgrade. And I sure hope the boxset is better designed this time, the original always pops up on "worst DVD packaging" list.
