I have a B&S 13.5 riding mower -

I have gas in the oil - it will starts white smoke ..

From reading other posts in the forum, this may be carb issue . mower too old to obtain carb kit thru Sears -

B&S 28R707 Type 1140-E1 -

Does anyone have a source for a carb kit, and service manual for this mower.?

My thoughts were to clean up the carb - - any ideas on fixing this problem?

thanks

for your problem, sears doesn't make it or has to have it, do you have a small engine shop around you? they can most of the time order up a kit, or even have one collecting dust. one thing, if you smell gas in the oil, and its a good quantity ( way past the full line ) don't start the engine..... sounds like a sticking float, or a leaky inlet needle ( may be the needle, or seat or both ) or the fuel float has gotten a pin hole, filled with gas and sank, letting gas flow, soon flows through the breather into the crankcase. float would feel heavy and or slosh.
