I was talking to the owner of the track in Bay City and he is talking about running oval on Saturdays instead of Fridays. He is just looking for some feedback. He will work around Mount Pleasant days I am guessing.

Just need some ideas so I can relay to him what will and will not work.

How about one (or two) Friday nites a month and two Saturday afternoons. That would let the guys (and gals) do Mt. Pleasant on the one Saturday a month that it is scheduled?

Wouldn't that conflict with Lansing on Friday nites? Last i heard they are still planning on racing again this season. I would like to go to BC sometimes. Either day Saturday or Sunday would be good.

You all will have to forgive me. I mis-spoke earlier. I was not thinking when I typed the first message. I meant to say Friday or Saturdays. On Sunday Bay City runs road course. As of this point I think the owner was leaning towards Saturday.

OK. I will let him know. I figured that would be the case. With Lansing running on Fridays it would make it hard. We were discussing the other night maybe trying to talk to Jon in Mount P and do something. Either way, when I find out more I will post here.

FYI - Lansing always runs oval on Friday night and road course on Sunday. I know many oval racers in the tri-cities and Flint area run Lansing. I suggest you choose a schedule that doesn't conflict with Lansing to improve your chances of having a good turnout. I don't know if it would help the road racing any, but I'd suggest road on saturday and oval on sunday. You also wouldn't have any conflicts with Mt. Pleasant either.

Oct 2 is the first set Sunday roadcourse that I know of. Right now I am assuming the following Saturday will be the first oval. I will have to get in touch with Pat to find out for sure.

Kevin, Pat had thought about that also. Most of the guys that run roadcourse on Sundays are locals that don't want to travel. I can count maybe 4 or 5 guys that race away from there. Also Robbys Hobbies just down the road ran 12th roadcourse on Saturday night last year. As of this moment I am not sure if Robbys is running this year.

Based on last year, it was the oval that needed a pick up in racers. The Sunday roadcourse was always fine.

John, everyone had a great time at the Mt. Pleasant track on Saturday. A great turn out !! Nice job, and thanks once again. It looks like the next oval race for everyone will likely be in Bay City on Saturday, October 29th. The track is easy to get to, and Pat is pretty open to what classes we can run. So, bring the Legends, bring the Sprinters, bring the pan cars, and bring the oval touring cars. The new, no-fuzz carpet is down, and the facility is very clean and comfortable. Hope to see everybody there.

Ok who is going this week to Bay city? Dave are you going to be there? I have a small box of left over Quarter scale stuff for you. Thats to bad that Roadsplat can't make it. Now if we could find a way for his wife to come up with something to do on the weekend of the race in the Soo.

Doors open at around noon on Saturday in Bay City. Racing starts around 2:00. Hope to see a good turnout of pan cars and Legends cars. The track looks nice and Pat hopes to get a good turnout for this the first oval race of the year at the track. Jamie plans to race and I plan to be around to keep Deano fast and humble etc.

Hey Dave you forgot your spare parts. Nice run Jamie, your car looked very good. Maybe some of it was his driving. i am ready to go again.

davz

Hey Kieth I guess I'll get them next time. I may be coming next Saturday.
Are you guys setting your cars up high and soft to handle the bump? I had a real hard time with the bump on Saturday. Or is it just the driving Line?

By the way IF THEY PUT THE ICE IN THE INSIDE CORNERS INSTEAD OF THE BOARDS IT WILL MAKE ME WANT TO COME NEXT WEEK. I'm sorry, but the inside boards are tough. I'm sure everyone will agree that the ice would be better. I saw it leaning against the wall next to the track.
Just a suggestion. Not trying to complain. Had a good time Saturday.
