The engine runs well, even under a very heavy load but it skips a beat once in a while say once every 5 seconds. I have changed the spark plug several times. I have disassembled the carburetor and cleaned it.

I am at a loss as to what the problem is. Any suggestions would be appreciated

No smoke. Compression good, plenty of power, it just hickup.

Sounds like the carb just needs a fine adjustment.

same here then... fine adjustment, get it hot.... then fine tune it.
