Hi guys.

A couple weeks ago Tommygun43 posted a thread with a tentative Northeast racing schedule. Here's what I wrote down for schedule:

North East special events calender

September 24,25 York, Maine, September Oval Spectacular
September 24,25 Plattsburgh NY, Champlain Valley Hobby Show Race
October 7,8,9 Fairfield Maine, Fall Classic
October 15-16 St-Roch-de-l’Achigan, TQ Cells Season Opener
October 23 K/N Speedway, Stock-a-fied
October 29, Glens Falls NY, Halloween Classic
November 5,6 Barre, VT, Turkey Shootout
November 20 Massena, NY, Trophy race
December 11 K/N Speedway, Winterblast warm-up
December 17,18 York, Maine, Winter Warm up
January 7,8 Barre, VT, New Years Bash
January 15, Massena NY, trophy race
January 20,21,22 K/N Speedway, WINTERBLAST XVII
February 24,25,26 Fairfield Maine, Cabin Fever
March 4, 5 Barre VT, March Meltdown
March 11 Plattsburgh NY, 4th Annual Jeff Sears Memorial Race
March 19 K/N Speedway, Springstock 1
March 26 Massena, NY, Trophy race
April 1,2 St-Roch de l'Achigan, Québec, International R/C Classic
April 7,8,9 Fairfield Maine, Carpet Oval Championship
April 15 Granby Québec, Can-Am Challenge
April 22,23 York Maine, Iron Maximus 2
April 30 K/N Speedway, Spring Sizzler

Now for 4 cell stock rules. St-Roch has changed a couple of their rules in KASCAR stock. I don't know if Granby is planning to change their rules. Basically, St-Roch is going to run ROAR rules as far as weight (40 oz. w. transponder) as well as ROAR rules for bodys (except no wing):
-4.25 in. total height
-open rear allowed as long as the integrity or the rear end looking from the side isn't altered.

What are each club's rules for mimimum weight, bodys ( wings/no wings, height, open or closed rear ends, etc... ). Also, which events on this calendar will be running hand-out motors?

Here are a couple to add, a new series has formed in south western new york and North Western PA called the Hooter chassis outlaw tour. Tour competitors will be 4 cell stock only, on flat carpet tracks with varying run-lines. Schedule as follows:
October 15, CB Club, Hannaville, PA
November 19, Craftworld R/C Speedway, Jamestown, NY
December 17, Crossingville, PA
Jan. 1, Gem City Rod and Gun Club, Harborcreek, PA
Jan. 21, CB Club, Hannaville, PA
Feb. 18, Allyn Sheldon Memorial, Craftworld R/C Speedway, Jamestown, NY
March 18, Gem City Rod and Gun Club, Harborcreek, PA
April 15, Steel Cty Hobbies, Bridgeville, PA
April 22, Erie R/C Raceway, Erie, PA
May 13, Awards Banquet, Rocky Grove, PA

Series is best 8 out of 9. Series follows all ROAR rules with strict tech after every round. Biggest races are Jan 1st at Gem city, Feb 18 at jamestown, and this will be the first year at Steel City, but I am expecting that to be a big one as well. If anyone needs directions or contact information please feel free to pm me, thanks.

i really think it's time for the local tracks in our area to get together and talk about having the same rules in Kascar (4 cell stock) it would make it a lot easier when we travel,we have changed afew rules in Plattsburgh, for now on we are letting any 27turn stock motor race, like what st.roch does we are still talking about weight, we might go to the 40oz rule with transponders.

40oz. or 2pounds 8 ounces w/ transponder
cut out rear end
mount personal transponder anywhere
and any production stock 27 turn motor

thats the newly adapted rules here at R/C World & Raceway for the 2005/2006 nascar class.

kascar... is that a canadian thing???

I think Granby still runs on friday nights. Sundays are for the CanAm thing. They'll run same rules as at the Rock. Schedule and other details should come in upcoming days.

Does anyone know if Barre's trophy races will be handouts again?

good question, i hope so i had fun last year, and they run them motors here at r/c world in the nastruck class weekly. the nastruck class is going to be the sportsman class for the trophy races, cause other tracks have the same class with car bodies.

Well, Actually I was hoping that Barre would go back to a "run what you brung" format for motors and I'll explain why.

The handout motor deal was supposed to put everyone on the same page for horsepower and also eliminate cheating. I say it doen't solve any problems and only creates extra headaches. When I go to a track that I don't race weekly, I like to concentrate my practice time on just that, practice. Motor tuning should be left for the bench at home before the event. Also, how can you actually prevent cheating if you allow the guys to purchase their motor on Saturday morning, bring it over to their hotel room overnight to work on it some more and bring it back for the race on Sunday? Furthermore, What do you do if you don't have any equipment to tune motors? Stay home? I've been racing successfully for some 12-13 years and never had my own dyno or comm cutter or what not. Instead I've relied on the help of others who prep my motors during the week so I can concentrate my money and time on chassis and tires come race day.

Last November's Turkey Shootout wasn't one of the most fun weekends. Luckily one of the Granby racers who made it down had the necessary equipmemt, but had to work on three motors all day Saturday. Needless to say his track time was cut really short on Saturday. I ended up setting up his car so MY track time with my own car was cut short also. On top of that, the carpet was on it's last straw and grip that weekend was some sort of an abstract concept that was right up there with the Holy Ghost, i.e. you wondered if it really existed. So needless to say that as much a b"!$/ the track was to get a handle on, I would have preferred to save all my time on chassis setup and tires. Furthermore, my handout from that race now serves merely as a practice motor. Which is even more frustrating is the fact that I had at hand at least 4 good motors in my drawer that I could just have simply bolted onto my pod and "merci bonsoir"!

This year Barre has a new carpet, and I love the layout as well as the atmosphere of the place. I would love to race all three events. But I'd like to just show up and turn some laps thank you!
