A friend at work was trying to remember the name of an old horror movie he saw as a kid but it rang no bells with me, hopefully someone here with a wider knowledge of the genre can help.

He says that it starts with the typical "kids in the car at make-out point". They leave to drive home and as they go along the road the camera cuts to this little alien-looking guy hiding in the bushes (big head, cat-like eyes). The alien is obviously watching the car approach and as it gets nearer, his hands are raised for an apparent attack and that is when the audience sees that his fingers end in needles which begin to drip fluid as if oozing venom. At the last moment the alien jumps out in front of the car but instead of hurting it, he gets run over by it. Apparently from then on the movie follows the alien's dismembered hand which crawls around attacking people (?).

OK, I remember "crawling hand" movies but this one just doesn't sound familiar. Any guesses out there? Thanks.

Worth noting: The spaceship model used in Invasion of the Saucer Men made a brief appearance in the Outer Limits episode "Controlled Experiment," with Barry Morse and Carroll O'Connor. The picture was remade by schlockmeister Larry Buchanan in 1965 as The Eye Creatures with John Ashley.
