hey Lee I just checked some notes I had and you might want to add about 8 teeth to that. last time out I ran a 112/36 with 2.20 tires in stock

Fl Flash

Dave havent been there yet! I was using my runline calculator to get that. 112/36 sounds awful tall for that size track, I was told 140' runline is that incorrect?
P.S. ran Hobbyworld last night to get some foam and asphalt time in, Had fun 9 cars in stock! Uh ran a 38/112 gear and 2.20 tires  Epic Binary motor though. Dang them Pedanos are fast!

davepull
09-03-2005, 05:58 PM
i don't know about the run line but that's the gear I ran. as far as hw you are right there maybe just a tick over geared like 1 tooth or a little less.

katf1sh
09-03-2005, 06:55 PM
19 turn gear..2.22 tires 36-37 100

stock 2.22 tires 33-34 100 this is ball park

bring those skinny tires with you, strickland is as smooth as any carpet track i have ever ran on. you can get away with super small tires and it's the fast way as well.

i run 3 pinks and a purple in 19 turn at every track but MTR and TQ hobbies this includes carpet. rc 4 less is the tire of choice and track record holding tire at almost all florida oval tracks.

the track is larger than 140??? it is a tweener sized track ultra smooth with awesome rear bite! friday night will be a good time to try some things....hope to see you all there...

HEY DAVE?????

The track size that they normally use is about 230' drive line. The overall size is 60' by 120'. The oval does not stay set-up permanently as they also run On-Road once a month with it's own lay-out. I don't think Mr. Bean even knows what size it will be untill it is set-up. However, as far as racing surfaces go, this track is by far the best that I have raced on in the state of Florida.

track size may be kept a secret to keep the local racers from a advantage? it is up to mike bean and his crew. either way it is a awesome track!

davepull

guys flat oval is flat oval. it is our knowledge of the surface and how it reacts to changes that gives us the advantage.

The weather channel said the cone of uncertainty will hit Strickland RC racetrack on Saturday. Not to worry though, I am sure Mike Bean has an alternate indoor venue in place. So the race is ON! Or we can run in someones living room. :freak:

weather as of today..looks good...if all goes as predicted, lol.

sprint cars are gear box custom works cars..they have them for sale at superior.

i discussed the idea of sprinters and it just won't fly at either the holiday classic or the focar races in 2005.

BUT the series is dropping a couple dead classes in 2006 and would love to accomodate a full blown electric gbx sprint car class with plaques and cups for the year end points!

friday night mike bean has said the sprinters are welcome to come race with us..this would give some of us an idea on how well they work outdoors on asphault. i hope a few show up!! one of the series head line sponsors is custom works and the sprint cars would fit right in!

REMEMBER FRIDAY NIGHT THE 23RD RACING AT 7 PM GATES OPEN AT 5 PM!
SATURDAY THE 24TH GATES OPEN AT 2 PM RACING AT 7 PM ISH.....SEE YOU ALL THERE!
