View Full Version : BSR 2005-2006 Season
John Foister 08-30-2005, 01:32 AM I wanted to start a new thread for this season since I was fortunate enough to get started early this past Saturday at the new Cincy flat track.
New for this fall will be what you guys have asked about for some time. A BSR Black compound. I will be testing it this weekend and hobbyshop will have some.
Distributors can get next week.

We are still doing some testing. It will wear alot better than gold and silver. We will report on Monday after the track testing this weekend.

Front and rear.
BEACH 09-16-2005, 09:56 PM Well, as the outdoor season winds down, HERE COMES THE CARPET SEASON. Wish I could get as excited over carpet as I do running asphalt outdoors. But, its racing!
I will be on BSR's all winter, and FAST TOO! Thanks to BSR for some great tires for the summer!
Talk to you soon, Jim Beachley
I am new to the team, actually ran for bsr in the old days and just hooked back up. I actually have not even ordered my tires yet. i am running a flat track race next weekend with likes of mike v. and e. salvas. Just wondering what everybody runs for tire setups for 19t. I am trying to narrow my order down and am still confused between the exotic tires vs. regular tires. Just wondering what everybody else is doing.
Thanks Mike McDermott

ericsalvas 09-17-2005, 10:04 AM hey Mike...here is what i used to run at maximus on july 16th...
left greens(with paragon)
RR white-grey(inner part being white...and outside edge grey)...inner part paragon...outside edge..tq
mod
Rf ...grey-silver(stock)..grey (19T)..both using TQmod
as you saw...it was fast...
plan on testing the new Black RF for the race
i might also try a LR pearl(softer than white)
so with those you should be fine

BEACH 09-17-2005, 10:11 AM Eric, what made you guys ever try diffrent tire traction compounds on the same tire?
Jim
ericsalvas 09-17-2005, 02:23 PM running tq mod...on the outside edge of right tires...will soften less the foam(tq mod beign less abrasive than paragon)...so the outside edge of right foams wont soften much...equalling faster cornering...of course if car is loose...i'd try paragon full RR....or even full paragon RF if car is still tight,,,this is just fine tuning...

By "Paragon" I'm assuming you mean the new "Traction Action" stuff and not the old "high octane" stuff ???
Thx.
ericsalvas 09-17-2005, 07:25 PM i'm talking about the paragon''ground effects''
Goodwrench29 09-17-2005, 07:36 PM Just curious where the new BSR black compound falls on the chart? Is it anything like a Jaco black? Thanks in advance.
TeamGoodwrench 09-17-2005, 08:00 PM i'm talking about the paragon''ground effects''
OK -- that stuff has been outlawed at all the carpet tracks around here for the last few years.
The only stuff we can run is like Jack The Crapper, TQ, or Paragon Traction Action.
Todd Putnam 09-17-2005, 08:01 PM ...The entire oval community should give John and Kevin a standing ovation.
They finally gave us what we all need, as well as what we've been asking for,...round,rigid wheels, consistency with compounds, split compounds, foam that is actually glued to the wheel, customer and trackside support,etc;
I guess racers know best what racers really need...Thanks guys.
TeamGoodwrench 09-17-2005, 08:01 PM Just curious where the new BSR black compound falls on the chart? Is it anything like a Jaco black? Thanks in advance.
It is supposed to be EXACTLY the same compound as the Jaco black.
burbs 09-17-2005, 10:45 PM jeff paragon is allowed at the triclone, and was at aj's last i ran there....I have only been to two or three tracks last year that didnt allow it.. all the tracks in indiana allowed it to..

Ahhhh... OK awesome.
Scotty didn't allow it at Trackside and the Iowa tracks (Dubuque and Vinton) also don't allow it. My BAD -- I didn't run Triclone the past couple rug seasons -- but that's gonna change this year!
Way cool.... back to the "good stuff" again :-)
bluelineracer 09-19-2005, 09:20 AM tried the new black this weekend...i like it. I paired it up with a green left front...seemed to work well. As compared to my setup from last year(purple lf/dub purp rf) it was quicker. I never liked the car with a real soft lf...but as soft as the green is it doesn't overpower the car. I think they work well together as they don't gum up like a pink/purple would. We'll test blacks down the right and combos down the left next time...but for now I'd say it'll be my baseline on the right front. Good job Kevin and John.

PAUL SCHWANBECK 09-19-2005, 11:58 AM Recieved BSR blacks for testing last week, I previously ran for Jaco, before running for BSR and I have very extensive knowledge of the Jaco black, I can tell you that the new BSR Black is Going to be the ticket it is exactly like the Jaco black but now you can have it on straight rims and the quality of production is second to none.
Look for me to be running this tire everywhere!!!!!!!!!
racer7 09-19-2005, 12:26 PM I am a racer in northern NY at R/C World and Raceway and I wanted to shout out to BSR for making a EXCELENT tires. Anyone that purchases BSR tires will be more than happy with the preformance of the product. Keep up the good work guys and we will keep winning!!!!

rcavenger 09-19-2005, 10:30 PM ahh.....it will be good to have that black compound tire on the RF...:)
JPH Racing 09-19-2005, 10:48 PM I may have missed this on the thread already ... But how cool is it that John has lowered the pricing on his tires? I think it's awesome!
Jake
TeamGoodwrench 09-19-2005, 10:52 PM ahh.....it will be good to have that black compound tire on the RF...:)
And one that is actually glued to the rim all the way around the edges ! :-)
Rick Liehr 09-20-2005, 03:41 PM I think its a shame that John had to lower his prices.....trust me he's not getting rich off them anyway. Since John has taken over BSR we know have foam tire that is as good or BETTER than some of the other name brands. As a result of this these other tire companys aren't selling as many tires....therefore one way to increase sells is to under sell the product. Look at the world we live in there is nothing getting cheaper out there. Trust me the oil prices affect the price of the foam in one way or another. So once again it's a shame to take money out of a guys pocket but on the other hand I think that just goes to show you what a GREAT product John with the help of Kevin has put out!!!! Keep them rolling......straight that is!!!
Thank Again for all your efforts,
Rick Liehr
