Sold a Star Trek model kit on the Great Bay of E this weekend, and I received a notice that the buyer paid by eCheck, which I've never heard of before. It actually shows as an "uncleared" payment in my Paypal account, with an expected clearing date a couple of days out. The email said to wait till after it clears to send the item. I Googled "echeck" and the site I found didn't seem to offer a very clear explanation up front. Anybody here have experience with this? How does it work? Ever had a problem with it?
I'm posting a duplicate thread on the JL diecast board just for inquiring minds that want to know...
thanks in advance--

as long as the money clears and added to your paypal account, who cares. its actually a digital check from a checking account from the individuals bank. they just have to provide a blank check # with account & routing#. i do this every month with circuit city CC.

I've gotten them before. I just waited for them to clear like Paypal says and have never had a problem. I just let my buyers know what was going on.

just wait till it clears, you'll know when because paypal will send you a "payment cleared" notice.
once I went on goodwill and shipped a guy about 12 cars and his payment of about 100.00 didn't clear till 10 days after I sent the package (had me sweating a bit).
