I have a 14hp B&S in a Murry lawn tractor about 10 years old, never had a problem before. Just recently it won't start. When i turn the key a clicking like sound comes from around the solenoid. I put in i new battery and still the same clicking sound. ???

You have one of two problems....

Either the battery ground is corroded/rusted and is not making good contact with the frame, or the solenoid is fried. The first thing you need to do is check the ground wire and clean it if necessary. If that checks out ok, get a jumper wire and run it from the positive side of the battery to the little signal terminal on the solenoid. If the solenoid closes and turns the engine over, the problem lies somewhere in the ignition switch....if it doesn't turn over it's time to replace the solenoid.

yep, check the connections on the battery, make sure they are tight, and CLEAN on the posts. you can, if the solenoid is not covered, turn the key on, and jump the solenoid with a screwdriver ( warning though, do not have gas around it will spark ) accross there, ....if its fried, i beleive advance sells some, walmart sells some, and of course a small engine shop can get one.
