I know next to nothing about anything scale other than HO. Can a body from one manufacturer fit on another manufacturers chassis? Is there a 'universal' mounting system for 1/32 scale cars?
Thanks in advance.

Dan,
I'm pretty sure they are not, Womps and thumpers use a steel/brass chassis but the bodies will interchange, but Fly Ninco and Scale-electric all use a plastic chassis with screws but the scew locations are dependent on the
body of the car... Check out Past-Time hobbies on Water Town Plank road in Milwaukee and talk to Mike...

So for the people who buy 1:32 resin bodies, like the kind offered by Resilient Resins, are pretty much left to come up with their own mounting solution. Is that pretty much the way it works then for the larger scales?

I would guess that is correct, I don't have any other 1/32 cars except for womps. Though looking through the boards that is what is clear to me. Check out some of the reviews of cars on Slotcarillustrated.com as they show shots of chassis and bodies.

Lenny,
The 1/32 scale cars are mostly to scale so the wheel base is different for most of them and the manufactires make different chassis for each. If you are going to make 1/32 scale resin cars make them to scale and the hobbiest will buy them and customize a chassis to mount it. If they are out of scale unless it is a very special car it won't sell.
Now the 1/43rd folks have a basic Artin Chassis similar to a TJET with a front mounting posts and a standard three front axel hole chassis. You can make bodies and sell to this crowd but it is not very large.

I would buy 1/43rd muscle and sporty car bodies.

Thanks for your help, guys!
Besides Resilient Resins, what are some of the other companies that produce 1:32 scale bodies?

Dan,
Mike makes a couple at www.pastimeshobbies.com (http://www.pastimeshobbies.com), really nice Cheata and a Gran-Sport Vette. He is usually at the Slot Car show at Crystal Ridge in Milwaukee and they are really nice. Check them out Dan...
