View Full Version : Cars you'd like to see in 1/24
madmanmark 08-22-2005, 11:19 AM I don't know about anyone else, but I like the JL 1/24 scale cars. They have nice detail and assembly for the price. My only gripe is that they chose to do cars which everyone else is or has done in that scale. I think the line would be better served if they dove into their library and pulled out the plans and masters for things we haven't seen either in a long time or at all. My suggestions:
'61 Ventura
'72 Grand Prix
'73 Grand Am
'66 Toronado
'70 442
'76 Cutlass Supreme
'67 Gran Sport
'71 Riviera
'60 Country Squire
'68 Cougar
'70 Cyclone
'61 Continental
'71 Challenger
'74 Monaco
'69 Javelin
'48 Tucker

CTWLSMIKE 08-22-2005, 11:33 AM Some of your suggestions might work but they would have to be cautious of others because if they don't appeal to enough buyers, they could linger for a good long time. I bet the 442 would do well along with many of the other standards. (i.e. Chevelle, GTOs, etc.)
madmanmark 08-22-2005, 11:45 AM Yes!! As someone who also builds models, I can tell you that would be huge - there's NOTHING like it out there.
madmanmark 08-22-2005, 11:50 AM True. If I were to narrow the list down, I would start with the 442, Riviera, Cougar, Cyclone, Continental, Monaco, and Javelin, as there is demand for these and they can be easily modified into something else (ie lowrider Riv, police Monaco, Trans Am Javelin, etc.)
midtown 08-22-2005, 12:00 PM Only 1/24 I'm looking forward to is FM's Avanti.

Matt, I see that these are shown as "in stock", so when you say that you are looking forward to this model, does that mean that you have one ordered? Just curious.

I would welcome any of those since I need some new (unique) "victims" for my customs. Those of you that have seen my work no what I'm talking about.

I know what you mean. I just started chopping up a Jada 1/24 Chrysler 300 for a hearse.

omega_republik 08-22-2005, 04:35 PM the original batmobile :D .... i've seen 1/18s out there but with the detail JL gives them, i bet this would make one heck of a car

They should do that in 1/24, they should do the '69 Vista Cruiser, a '65 Starfire, and a '68 442 also. Also, they should modify the Ertl Collectables '57 Olds stocker tool to become a showroom stock '57 Super 88 with the J2 option.
