The Jet 08-18-2005, 07:35 PM Are we going to be able to run ROAR submitted cells before Janurary 1st???
I think that would be the smart thing to do, to keep battery buying at a minumum. The way I see it, if 3300's are max for the beginning of the season, people will buy new 3300's to start the season, then Janurary 1st people will be wanting to buy 3800's because if 1 person has them, others will think they need them, now the battery expense has doubled.
If we just allow the submitted cells from the beginning of the season, I believe we'll start off on the right foot.
What's the opinion of the rest of "YA'LL"
Later, Bret
Racin'Jason 8 08-18-2005, 09:03 PM Bret, I agree that whatever the verdict is at Racing City regarding the new cells, it needs to be implemented immediately to avoid conflict -- before people do their fall cell shopping. Since I do 90% of my racing there (as well as many others) it's not a big deal if I know as soon as possible. It would only be an issue for the traveling guys for a few months, so it should be a "majority rules" situation -- let's hear from others. Jason
Todd Putnam 08-19-2005, 03:16 PM I think supply and demand will take care of this one. With the Oval Nats next month, people are scrambling to find new 3300's, and can't. The big 3 aren't importing them anymore, especially now that the IFMAR offroad worlds is over.
I'm not sure we'll have a choice other than to run 3700's or 3800's...
NASCR3 08-19-2005, 07:00 PM Just for everyone to know that Ken is looking at the battery issue right now to see what the ramifications would be in both cases with or without the switch. A decision will be forthcoming so don't sweat it he knows you guys all shop early for cells and that it is a very important issue to get resolved quickly.
John
The Jet 08-21-2005, 07:01 PM I'm going to test some goodies this Saturday, anybody want to bang doors with me???
Later, Bret
rcrc805 08-22-2005, 02:05 PM Yes, we will be allowing any 3600, 3700 and 3800 cells that have been submitted to ROAR for approval. If anyone knows, or knows how to verify, that a given cell has been submittedto ROAR for approval, please pass that info along.
Outlaw 44 08-22-2005, 08:37 PM Hi guys

THE DARKSIDE 08-29-2005, 08:44 PM I think supply and demand will take care of this one. With the Oval Nats next month, people are scrambling to find new 3300's, and can't. The big 3 aren't importing them anymore, especially now that the IFMAR offroad worlds is over.

harringBONE 09-02-2005, 08:14 AM the tripleh camp is readying their new rides and cannot wait to hit sgf with some mod rip again!
DICKJ45 09-03-2005, 05:30 PM Will anyone be runing 1/12 scale ? A bunch of us from plattsburgh may make the trip down on the 10th.
Dick J
Tommygun43 09-03-2005, 06:18 PM I would. HHH might? It may be too early in the season to get a 1/12th scale class going.
Dick, are you going to SOS?
DICKJ45 09-04-2005, 09:26 AM I am planning on it Tommy. Did you get a Maverick yet ? I will bring my MINI MAV sat anyway. There will be at least 2 making the trip and maybe we can get the mighty midget to go also, i think he could use a break .

Yea, its just a street project havent been able to spend much money on it.This summer has been hard financially wise on my family so i really had to pay for everything as far as food and other stuff goes and with the low paying job i had over the summer plus going back to school, i wont be able to work so I dont think i will be racing at all this year. I can't really afford it(tires, new cells, normal entrys,brushes,motors.).I guess i can wait till next year to get better at it. I will swing threw every now and then if i can even afford gas to get there.3.66 a gallon for 87 = :drunk:
disruptor10 09-04-2005, 06:09 PM I hear ya Justin , the gas prices will put a damper on alot of stuff, I know if it get's too crazy i wont be racin in SGF every week I will have to swap back n forth w/ Racin in Renns but we will see it's early yet
Ed Litt 09-04-2005, 09:11 PM I hear ya Justin , the gas prices will put a damper on alot of stuff, I know if it get's too crazy i wont be racin in SGF every week I will have to swap back n forth w/ Racin in Renns but we will see it's early yet
Hey Dave,
I cleaned off the dirt and put together a new McAllister EDM body for the carpet racing season. I wish I could say I would be racing on the 10th but I'm going away that weekend :( I hope the gas price situation doesn't cut into my racing schedule as well. I drive a 1994 Bronco and the price of gas is killing me, as everyone else.
Hope all is well and I'll chat with you later!
Ed
Tommygun43 09-05-2005, 12:43 AM Good to hear some Plattsburgh guys might be coming down. As long as there is no pizza in the building we should be ok! No Maverick Dick, I went with a Raptor.
Can't wait to race at the permanent Plattsburgh track!
Tommygun43 09-06-2005, 01:08 AM Now might be a good time to get the minimum weight for pan cars inline with everyone else. Roar is 40 oz. Most tracks are also. The new batteries are at least half an ounce heavier also.
Racin Steve 09-06-2005, 10:15 AM New rules at St-Rock!!!
Open rear of body now allowed.
40oz including transponders.
No specific transponder location (can be mounted anywhere inside the car).
Minimum roof height of 4.25" (no more trim line rule).
3800mAh and less.
I'm going this saturday ... is it (3) 4 minute heats + (1) 4 minute main?
How 'bout motor rules (4 magnet)?
Steve.
Tommygun43 09-06-2005, 11:11 AM Steve we usually run 3, 5 minute qualifiers and a 5 minute main. No 4 mags.
I believe the ride height is 3 mm minimum. 38 oz minimum.
Racin Steve 09-06-2005, 11:13 AM 38oz including transponder?
Steve.
Tommygun43 09-06-2005, 11:35 AM yes, 38oz with transponder
The Jet 09-06-2005, 04:44 PM How 'bout motor rules (4 magnet)?
Steve.
Hi Steve, you can run 4 magnet in 19 turn  .
I haven't heard what kind of turnout is to be expected, I hope some people see this and let us know.
Later, Bret
The Jet 09-06-2005, 04:52 PM yes, 38oz with transponder
Tommy, I'm not positive but I think that was upped to 40 oz.
I talked to Kenny last year about following ROAR rules, and let him know that ROAR went to 40. He said he wanted to finish out the year as it started (38oz) But I believe this year he will follow suit with other tracks and rules.
I'll call him to confirm.
Later, Bret
rcrc805 09-06-2005, 05:23 PM In order to be in line with other tracks and ROAR rules, we will be following ROAR's new 40oz. weight rule for 4-cell "pan" cars for the 2005-2006 season.
Ken,

Razoo 09-08-2005, 02:40 PM Anyone know what classes they expect to run? I realize it depends on the number of entries but do they plan on running a stock 4 cell class or just 19 turn?
Racin Steve 09-08-2005, 02:57 PM Anyone know what classes they expect to run? I realize it depends on the number of entries but do they plan on running a stock 4 cell class or just 19 turn?
I'm going to run 4-cell stock no matter what.
Steve.
DICKJ45 09-08-2005, 05:04 PM I'll be there to run 4 cell stock and maybe 2 other from plattsburgh.
Dick J

Nope, not racing at all this year.
rcrc805 09-10-2005, 12:36 PM The out of towners are starting to roll in. Steve Salvas, Dick Jarvis and some of the other guys from up north are already here, as well as of couple of the local truck racers. Some talk about 1/12 scale, and gearbox stock. If you've got it, bring it! Should be a good program

rcrc805 09-12-2005, 05:06 PM Nice feild of DD Stock, Gearbox Stock, Stadium Trucks & Mini-T/18T for opening night. Steve Salvas came down from up north and set the pace in DD Stock. Dave Lareau showed the fast way around in Gearbox, and Al Smith Jr. kept his winning streak going in Stadium Trucks. But where was Bret the Jet and the Mod crew  Thanks all for coming. Spread the word that the new season is under way. Hope to see you all and more this Saturday.
harringBONE 09-13-2005, 08:30 AM the 200 was at the valley on saturday that kept tripleh from going, and the gimp and me havent finished our new whips. i think that we;re planning on the 24th. assuming that we get all of the new special goodies by then.
Racin'Jason 8 09-15-2005, 12:28 AM Just got back to New York and getting ready for the second leg of our honeymoon in Loudon (my part!) - may be a couple of weeks before I get up there, but can't wait. How many laps did Mr. Salvas lay down in stock?
