Ok. I have a question. I'm getting ready to try out the new IB3800's for the 1st time. I race 4 cell stock mainly at The Rock, Granby and Plattsburgh. Some say you can use them twice the same day to get more punch out of them for your last heat or your feature run, others say they crap out after 4-5 weeks if you use them more than once in the same day. If one were to use them for more than one run, what's the recommended resting time between each run?

I would say until they a fully cooled down...its not good to re charge a warm pack... also if you dead short... i would recomend dead shorting the pack again before you recharge it..

That's what I found out ...

If you deadshort these IB3800 (properly done) and run them once a day they'll deliver to their maximum capacity each time out (voltage and resistance) ... if you don't deadshort your packs and the last run/cycle was inadequate it is possible that they'll need a "reset" cycle thus feeling more punch on the next run/cycle.

An inadequate run/cycle is an incomplete charge-discharge cycle: hitting the track with an incomplete charge and/or not discharging the pack once you're done racing, etc.

You can re-run the same pack in the same day (once it has cooled down completely) ... but see it this way ... you can run the same motor multiple times in the same day ... no big deal, you'll just have to rebuild it sooner than expected ... as with batts ... you can't "rebuild" a worn out battery pack ... once it's gone, it's gone.

Steve.
