TGIF everyone,
I have always like the 50s early 60s Indy cars. The Aurora Indy just never looked right and for the life of me I can not figure out what Indy car it was based on.
For those that do not know Atlas made a kit car both slot-car and static display Indy based on I believe Watson design. It came with lots of customizing goodies, like 3 differnt oil tanks, two different exhaust pipes, steering linkage, gas caps, breathers, hood scoopes and an add on tail fin in chrome and color.
I just purchased a kit a little on the expensive side but I planned on making a TJET out of it. It fits the slim-line chassis with no problem but I wanted the standard chassis to work. Last night a made a mold and a slosh cast and it will fit the standard chassis.
I will finish up the inside master this weekend and I have designed it to mount the standard and slim-line. If you mount a slim-line you will have to trim the rear body post to lower the rear end down. Here is a phot of the body setting on a standard chassis.

After I took this picture I wanted to see how much lower I could get it. I removed the interior and she came down great and looks very nice on a standard chassis and absolutley perfect on a slim-line. Iif you look at the picture you will see square shape on the side. The left side are for mounting oil tanks, and the notch is for one of the exhaust pipes. The right side is to mount the steering linkage. I will be making a solid master then adding the details I want and from this I will make new masters of each configuration. So stay tuned this fall. I plan on haveing an Indy mail-in proxy race next year.
