Hi all,
Ineed to replace the cam in my motor and I was wondering what I have to set the piston and the cam at before I put the belt back on. Th eold cam started breaking apart cause the pin kept working it's way out of the hole. So I got a donor motor for $20 and scabbed the valvecover from it and the cam and shaft. Any help would surely be appreciated.

Thanks, Bobby

Ok, I figured out how to replace the cam and belt. First you set the crank at TDC then set the cam lobe in between the rocker arms. put the belt on and hope it's not one tooth off one way or another.

Ok, I figured out how to replace the cam and belt. First you set the crank at TDC then set the cam lobe at 6 o'clock. Put the belt back on and replace the cam shaft hoping that the belt isn't off a tooth one way or the other.

There should be a dot on the camshaft gear and on the crackshaft gear. Line up the dots on the gears and you should never have a problem.
