Can anyone give me the scoop on which collection of Twiliight Zone's are the best to get. I've seen that they have the "Definitive Edition" Season #_ collections:

But they also have "Collection #_" for almost the same price.

I'm assuming the Definitive Season is the one I want, but just wanted to make sure. Can anybody clear this up? Thanks!

This site (http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/DVDCompare7/twilightzone.htm) compares the "Definitive Edition" with an earlier release. (I believe there have been at least 3 releases of the show.) If nothing else, the Definitive version seems to have the best extras. I believe season one was even released with a copy of the TWILIGHT ZONE COMPANION book.

There's no question that THE DEFINITIVE EDITION is the one you want. The transfers are all new HD transfers.
In my case, I own the second release of the old transfers. In their defense, it must be stated that they are still extremely good and. I still think of them as among the premium quality releases of that era (ten times better than Lost in Space).
Since I own the first transfers, I don't intend to upgrade until an HD format is determined. Because these are new HD transfers (obviously done in Standard Definition for normal DVD), I must assume that these will be an early TV release when HD DVD arrives. Given the two previous releases, I can't conceive that Image suddenly decided to redo the whole series with HD transfers for the sole purpose of releasing more SD DVDs.
And the "old" DVDs do have one advantage. They were released as four episodes each on DVD-5s. The single layer DVD-5 is virtually indestructible and is unlikely to suffer any physical problems.
But if you don't already have the series, get the new "Definitive" edition.

If you belong to Costco, you can snag the first three seasons' Definitive Editions currently on DVD for under $60 each, including tax. The best price anywhere I've seen.
