The annual race will take place Saturday, August 20th with races starting around 1:00pm. The track is located in Smethport, Pa. at the McKean County Fairgrounds right near the gates to the pits of the big raceway off turn four. Electric is avaliable, but bring your own tables & chairs. Come and have a good time at the FAIR!!!

Tomorrow, Aug 14th is track maintenance day with practice to follow. Only 1 week until the race. Come on down and have some fun.

Looking at the pictures is this track smooth enough to run say an Intimidator GBX or do you have to run truck or buggys converted with long shocks to soak up the bumps? Also what are the tires of choice?

We did some track work yesterday and ran a few batterys afterward. The track is in pretty good shape this year, but it was very dry & dusty as we've had little rain and there wasn't a hose avaliable to wet it down. (It will be watered down for the race) There were acouple of Terminators there last year and they did well, but I'd say spikes (mini pins,step pins, etc) are the tire of choice as it does dry out and loosen up as the day goes on. I think a GBX would work well, but you should set it up for a bumpy track. Bring your own table and chairs and maybe a tarp in case it rains......NO - NO IT WILL NOT RAIN!!:cool:
