I have a moddified T-Maxx, but its hard to tune some times and doesnt always want to run, and i have had it for 3 years and want to change. I ran my friends revo and raced it. I won with it and couldnt belive the handleing on it. But i have looked at the revo and how everything is in there so tight and dont really like that, but i wud be keeping it stock.
Some of questions are
What type of fuel?
What are some modds i should do?
What breaks easily?
Is it any harder to tune than a 2.5 with a raceing piston?
How hard is it to do ushual mantinece work on the car?
Some tech tips. and any thing you can tell me.

It would be great do get some answers for me and and any other people that are in the same situation, or has some problems with there revo.

1. Use the Traxxas Fuel because if you ever have to send you engine back, they will check for a blueish color inside your engine that Top Fuel leaves. Traxxas recommends Top Fuel. 20% is good but 30% offers a bit more juice.

2. RPM A-arms, great on any truck, and I liked them on the Revo because they are bulletproof. Trinity racing pipe and OS .18 Tz in the power department. P2 rockers and Traxxas red pushrods. MIP gold shock shafts. MIP CVDs, less rotating mass, spins freely. Better steering servo. Better (FM or PCM if you race) radio.

3. The revo is a pretty solid truck, but I have seen lots of arms broken, and in most cases, people hurt their engine from not being able to tune it.

4. Traxxas claims that they have worked out all the bugs from the TRX 2.5 and made a better engine in the 2.5R. My 2.5 (in my maxx) was a beast and was a pain in the rear to tune until the third gallon. It was still alive and kicking by the sixth gallon and I thought it was running its best then.

5. I do agree that the Revo is a tight set-up, but if you race you will get used to taking the truck apart. Bust out the nitro cleaner, a rag, and a toothbrush and you'll be OK. Maintenance on the truck is a little tricky, but you get used to it.

Tips: Don't give up on the 2.5R. Every one is a different beast, and I believe they are t their best at around 4 or five gallons. Have fun and race hard.
