Besides the post 1969 Small Tootsietoys, the most common found are the 3" series from the 40s/50s/60s. The one below is one of the hard ones to find, it was only made for one year. This one was a Sandbox find, the person I bought it from found it with a metal detector in an old sandbox. It's a 1947 Studebaker Coupe made in 1949, 3" long. I had to scrape the corrosion off the body, just haven't painted it yet. You can see the axles are pretty rusty, but original

I'll bet that if I were to take a metal detector and check under a certain big chinese elm tree on our farm back in Kansas, I find quite a few old military and construction Lesneys. Have fun restoring the Stude.

that thing is probably worth a lot huh ??? :eek:
(been noticing how many of those you have ..... maybe you should open a gallery or something .... like a die cast museum .... lots of priceless items there you own)

When these show up on Ebay and in good condition, they typically go for over $50. I have around 2-300 Tootsietoys, down from 500 I used to own.
