I found this Tomica DeTamaso in unloved shape at a flea market. It was all there and I got it in a 5 for 5 deal.
Honestly I've NEVER liked the Pantera's color choices. So I decided to take owners artistic license and put something on it I did like. I had this "Nail Fantasies" satin blue nail polish I had left over from The Ultimate Mail Car. I went with the two toned Pantera scheme.
The wheels came from the 63 T-Bird that gave its windshield to the GT40 Roadster Ch#111. They had to be trimmed down on the inside. The wheel wells on the chassis also had to be cut back to get the clearance to keep the tires from sticking out of the fenders.
The car was stripped, Krylon Grat Primered, baked, Krylon Flat Black, baked, masked, color coated then Krylon Triple Thick Crystal Glazed. This was dried under a hair dryer.
I painted the engine compartment but haven't been able to get it back open yet as the glaze made a pretty good bond.
