Hi, I am new here and have a 5HP Tecumseh engine off an older 3 wheeled go cart. It looks like a snow blower engine but my question is what can I do to beef up this engine. Where is the best place to find performance parts like piston and cams? What is the best way to soup an eengine like these and is the money spent trying to really worth it? The reason why I ask is because right now I have the go cart torn down to the frame and it was originally driven by one wheel. I want to convert it into a solid rear axel so both rear wheels have power and I am afraid it won't have e nough power. Thanks for any imput.

dump the tec, and use a briggs..... my old cart was a solid axle, with a 5hp briggs horizontal shaft, it was a side valve engine, pretty stock besides a governor adjustment and straight pipe. plenty of power......., don't really know where to find performance parts for a tec, but plenty for those little b&s's. of course if you want to keep the tec, sure someone else would know where to find perf. parts
