Don't know how many fans of this show are on here.

But thought I would let them know that there is finally going to be a DVD release of this show!

The release will begin with a single DVD with 4 of the 30-minute versions of the episodes. (US syndicated eps, as opposed to the 1 hour Canadian episodes) If successful, more will follow.

The DVD is being produced from 3/4" tapes and I'm told the quality is fantastic.

The original music for the Wolfman segments WILL be intact.

Here is the link for Amazon USA (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000AC7OV6/qid=1122174561/sr=8-3/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i3_xgl74/002-6620626-0392864?v=glance&s=dvd&n=507846)

And here is the one for Amazon Canada (http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000AC7OV6/qid=1122174527/sr=8-3/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i3_xgl14/702-1855965-7793639)

For anyone who doesn't know, or can't remember what this show is about, might want to check out this site

" (US syndicated eps, as opposed to the 1 hour Canadian episodes)"

Oh dear.

I didn't realize that the show had been chopped to half an hour in the U.S.. I only saw the proper versions.

The show had quite a following among my jr. high crowd at the time, even though it was clearly aimed at a younger audience. The campy quality and the high production values had a lot of appeal. It very well done for a kids show.

But I have serious misgivings about short versions of the show. And I have even more concerns about music clearance issues. That show had a lot of contemporary pop music from artists (I specifically remember) like Neil Diamond and George Harrison. Even if it says the original music "WILL BE INTACT", I can't help but worry that means that some segments will be off limits. If you put out four, short episodes, it might be easy to clear music from the lesser artists.

I just can't buy 30 minute episodes. I suppose that will be OK for people who REMEMBER the show being 30 minutes long. Not for me, though.

Yeah, I know.
I would prefer to have the 1 hour eps as well.
Unfortunately those can't be done.
The company releasing these only have the rights to the US versions.

All the masters for the Canadian version were ordered destroyed by the rights holder. (everyone is hoping that he still retains at least one set of masters).
And he has no interest in getting it out to the public.

Hopefully if these US versions do well, and attract a lot of attention, it might lead to the Canadain eps seeing the light of day again.

Yes.

That was Brucie.
Every ep the Count would try to revive him by some crazy/inept means.
