My 4 year old son just got a birthday present today - the new Mattel batman set. You've never seen a more excited child then this little guy - he'd have his own track in his own room. We set it up and the cop car runs great - the bat mobile wont run, I took of the body and the issue is the chassis is draging the magnets on the rails. Is there a way to adjust the magnets on these cars? Anyone selling rear tires that would raise the chassis and fit this thing? Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Bob

Try removing the magnets and seeing if there is a piece of flash caught on the top that won't allow them to sit up where they should be.. and complain to mattel they may send him a new one if Not I will send ya some tires you can try email me your address

For some reason Mattel hacked up the rear bulkhead on the late 440X2's and removed a shoulder section of the rear bulkhead that holds the traction magnets in, causing the magnets to drop down and sit crooked in the bulkhead. Have NO idea why they did this but I've seen it in practically every new X2 chassis from Mattel. That could be what you are experiencing. Can you snap a picture of the bottom of the chassis near the traction mags?

They said I had to send back the entire set, After the get the set they'll send me a voucher for 20 bucks. I told her the set cost $29.00 plus tax and it was a birthday present and I don't have the reciept, (although I may be able to get it) then I asked why couldn't they just replace the car or send me a new set from their warehouse once they recieved the one we have. - to which she said, "that's not our policy".

Seems to suck to be me and my son.

Coach - I think I'll be sending you an e-mail.

Picker, don't send it back to Mattel, it'll cost you dam near the 20 bucks to send it. Return it to the store, receipt or not. At least you'll get credit for the purchase price.

It's pretty sad to see this kinda crap from manufactures, they're probably hoping you'll keep it, and eat the loss rather than them. Maybe if this is a problem on their end they'll eventually fix it rather than continually putting out defective product.
