I have a Rivergate 30 amp power supply that I dropped. After hitting the ground, the ceramic piece surrounding one of the coils broke. I haven't use or even plugged it into an outlet because I'm afraid of what might happen. My question is will it work fine without this piece, can I glue it back together or is it no good? Is there any place I can send it or take it to have repaired?

Some of the power caps (especially the bigger ones!) can hold a charge even after being unplugged for 2 weeks and are capable of giving you a "nice" wake-up call! lol Try looking in the phone book & look up any radio/TV repair or radio repair shops in your area. They should be able to help you out. If you don't see any of those shops, call your nearest Radio Shack & ask them if they know anybody.

Thanks George. I have an old rivergate 45 amper myself that bit the bullet and I was too lazy to realize that the phone number was on the unit. Websites are better than phone numbers anyway. See you at the track some day.

Depending on how old the model is send Rivergate an email on your problem.
I had an older 45amp Power Source model for years purchasing a 75amp and 3 other 30amp Bulldog models. The 45amp finally gave out, although they said the model was too old, or didn't have the parts to repair it they offered to take it and sell me a new one at cost plus shipping.
