A new diecast (all plastic) version of the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang movie flying car was sold at the SDCC convention last weekend. The convention Chitty was an exclusive, but only a minor variant of the regular release, which is supposed to be out soon. This car is incredible, about 19 inches in length (including wings).

Did all the features work on it? Steering? doors? I'm sure the wings do.

The doors do not open, the wheels spin but do not turn (the steering wheel does, tho), the wings are all stationary, but easily removable. You can see photos of it here: http://photos.figures.com/photo/1/showgallery.php?cat=3010

Although I've seen conflicting information, one dealer told me the regular release of the Chitty car will be in October/November 2005 (some other websites say August).
